Gideon hides from Midian and doubts God, while Israel clings to idols that promise prosperity. God patiently gives signs, then reduces Gideon’s army from thirty-two thousand men to three hundred so Israel cannot claim the victory. A Midianite’s dream confirms God’s promise, and Gideon worships before God turns the enemy army against itself. God saves sinners through faith in Jesus, not through human worth or effort.
