Judy Chinitz is the mother of two sons, one of whom has severe autism. It wasn't until Alex was 25 years old that she learned how to teach him to communicate using a letter board. Judy learned that all the motor impairments she had recognized in her son had prevented him -- for his entire life -- from showing that he has both normal language and exceptional intelligence.  She did an interview right after Alex passed the New York State High School Equivalency exam, with distinction...and was accepted into an excellent 4-year college. Since then Judy has worked with over 50 students like Alex at the Mouth to Hand Learning Center, in Westchester County, NY. Daily, she brings the gift of expressive language, friendships and the joy of learning to nonspeaking autistic individuals. Alex had a setback, however, when he acquired severe Lyme disease.
