From Greg Wischer at the United States Department of the Interior: “The Theodore Roosevelt Island National Memorial, with two fountains and a 17-foot statue of Theodore Roosevelt, was just repaired, cleaned, and beautified, after experiencing chronic periods of disrepair.   The fountains were fixed; the statue was cleaned and waxed; and the granite elements were pressure washed.   The memorial was dedicated on October 27, 1967–Theodore Roosevelt's 109th birthday.
