Julia K. Dietmar, Co-Founder & CEO of OpenWardrobe (Interview 19/100)
from Capitalism for Good
When we think about companies that are leveraging the tools and knowledge at your fingertips for the greater good, OpenWardrobe easily fits the mold. Julia K. Dietmar is the Co-Founder and CEO of this AI powered app & web browser designed to help you organize your closet, track the clothes you’re wearing (or not wearing), provide education to help you wear the clothes in your closet that you’re not wearing, and help you shop intentionally. It also has integrations with ThreadUp & an alterations platform with additional useful tools available to partnering stylists. The all-encompassing fashion tool is so much more than what it might seem to be on the surface. While she might call her journey to the intersection of apparel, data, and technology an accident, her motivations to leverage data and technology to help keep clothes out of landfills. Sustainability. Because, in her words, “People need solutions, not things.” She had me hooked and ready to ask a million more questions. Her transparency mixed with passion stands out to me. She’s not afraid to shy away from some of the warranted concerns about the future of AI. She is committed to leverage it for good though and expects her team of experts to be life-long learners keeping up with the latest tools available to continue to grow an “ecosystem of services” with OpenWardrobe. She’s constantly evolving and so is OpenWardrobe. Her dedication to leveraging the tools available to all of us to help us all be more mindful, especially when it comes to reducing waste, is admirable. And her advice to other entrepreneurs out there trying to make it work, “just keep swimming.” Thank you, Julia for everything!Shout out: Julie Bornstein, Founder & CEO of Daydream Bonus shout out: Charlie Dietmar, Chief of CutenessBonus Discount: CFG for 20% off Style Blueprint (Style Blueprint Men & Style Blueprint Women)Instagram | Company Mentions | BioSite (with links to listen & more) | TranscriptsWe encourage intentional consumerism and community-focused business practices.Ad-free episodes can be accessed through paid subscription at Patreon.com/CapitalismForGood (options starting at $1).Between the Interviews | Bittersweet Paradox | Capitalism for Green | Company Mentions Hosted on Acast.
