Julia MacArthur | Counselling | Psychotherapist/Social Worker | 342 | thamichaelated Julia MacArthur joins us toniiiight in THA Schtudio as we talk about the ongoing mental health crisis in Canada and how we can overcome it with skilled counsellors and healthcare professionals who are not overworked and underpaid. Julia has been practicing social work in Thunder Bay for over 15 years and is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and also the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She believes the stigma over pursuing counselling will soon go away as the current generation realizes the importance of mental health and the awareness is only bound to grow as the benefits are bringing you a new life. Julia also talked about how some people are considered more resilient to trauma than others. She said that distressing memories are often suppressed by our brain to protect us from the trauma but some trigger words ,actions ,sounds or even smells can bring it all back to a person which can be cautiously dealt with in counselling.Julia MacArthur does not believe that AI will take over her job nor would she want to. We talked about the recent request to ban AI development for 6 months.
