Juliet Fraser sings Richard Ayres 'No. 42 — In the Alps' (extract)
from eavesdropping conversations · host Juliet Fraser for eavesdropping.london
In lieu of a live performance on 20 March 2020 (cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic), we are sharing some substitutes. This piece was to be the encore of Juliet's set at eavesdropping on 20 March 2020: a short extract, featuring a goat, a swine, a cicada, an owl, an eagle and a nightingale, from Richard Ayres's 'No. 42 (In the Alps — an animated concert)'. Performed here on 9 February 2020 with the Hartley Loop Orchestra c. Benjamin Oliver at Turner Sims, Department of Music, Southampton University. Costume by the MA students of the Fashion Department of Winchester School of Art. Music and Text by Richard Ayres. By kind permission of Schott Music Ltd. Juliet's set was also to include a work-in-progress performance of a new module of the 'Tracery' project with composer Cassandra Miller. And old but little-known (and very strange) module, 'Tracery : The Slits' can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/267407136.
