The purpose in a man's heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.” — Proverbs 20:4–5“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much… You cannot serve God and money.” — Luke 16:10, 13________________________________________Have you ever crammed for a test the night before and wished you had prepared earlier? Or maybe you’ve felt torn between doing what’s right and doing what’s easiest. The Bible speaks to both those moments in Proverbs 20 and Luke 16. Whether it’s avoiding laziness or choosing who (or what) you’ll serve, God wants us to live with purpose and wisdom. It’s not always flashy or fun, but being faithful in small things today leads to real reward later. And the good stuff—our God-given purpose—isn’t always obvious. Sometimes we have to dig deep to discover it.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. What are you planting? Proverbs talks about a person who doesn't plow and then wonders why there's no harvest. If you’re not making time for God, friendships, goals, or growth now, what do you hope to reap later? Your future harvest depends on today’s choices.2. Faithfulness in the small stuff: Jesus says that if you’re trustworthy in little things, you’ll be trusted with more. Are you showing up with effort, honesty, and heart—even when no one is watching?3. What’s driving you? Luke reminds us that we can’t serve both God and money. It’s bigger than money—it’s about what rules your heart. Is it popularity, success, comfort? Or is it Jesus?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEFaithfulness today shapes your tomorrow. God has placed deep purpose in your heart, but you’ve got to dig it out—and that starts with small, consistent steps in the right direction.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, help me not to be lazy with the life You’ve given me. Teach me to be faithful in the little things and to make choices that honor You. Give me the courage to dig deep and follow Your purpose for my life, even when it’s not easy. I want to serve You, not the things that pull me away from You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
