July 19, 2020 - (Pr. Kurbis - AVL) Matthew 13:24-30,36-43 - "Wait Before You Wonder"

People who do evil things are all around us. They lie. They steal. They kill. They deceive. They destroy. When they have their way, they will do terrible things to those who live in the kingdom of God. What should you do about them? Is it up to you to somehow identify them and remove them from the world? If so, by what standard should you take such action? With a simple parable Jesus assures us that it’s the Lord’s responsibility (not yours!) to uproot and destroy the Evil One and those who do his bidding. Jesus and his angels are going to do that “at the end of the age” – on Judgment Day. That’s when all evil and those who do it will be eliminated. That’s also when “the righteous will shine like the sun.”
