July 20 – Surrendering Your Plans

In today’s episode, Pastor Jenny Dirmann shares a devotion from James 4:13–17, where James warns against making confident plans for tomorrow without acknowledging the Lord’s will. This passage is not a command to avoid planning, but an invitation to hold every plan with open hands before God. Pastor Jenny reminds listeners that our lives belong to the Lord, and true humility is found in seeking His direction rather than asking Him to simply bless our own ambitions. James concludes by reminding us that sin is not only doing what we know is wrong, but also failing to do what we know God has called us to do. That includes surrendering our plans, priorities, and decisions to Him. As we draw near to God, humble ourselves, and seek His wisdom in both the ordinary and significant moments of life, He graciously leads us in the path He has prepared.
