July 20 — The Jerusalem to Come and the Anointed One Who Brings It — Chronological Audio Bible Reading | Isaiah 60–64 | Resolved to Read
from The Resolved to Read Podcast · host Jennifer Jolene Deal
In today's reading from Isaiah 60:1–22; 61:1–11; 62:1–12; 63:1–19; and 64:1–12, God's promises reach a stunning crescendo—calling His people to arise and shine because the Lord's glory has risen upon them, and revealing the Anointed Servant who will bring good news to the poor, freedom to captives, and comfort to those who mourn. Yet these breathtaking visions of restoration have not yet reached their fulfillment. The Jerusalem Isaiah describes is not the earthly city we see today, but the heavenly Jerusalem that will one day come down from above (Rev. 21:2; Gal. 4:26)—the city whose light is the Lamb Himself (Rev. 19:13). Alongside these promises, Isaiah also cries out in repentance, pleading for God to rend the heavens and come down. These chapters lift our eyes to Jesus and invite us to live as people of hope, repentance, and expectant waiting for the kingdom that is still to come.Resolved to Read is a daily chronological Bible podcast guiding you through Scripture in one year—with short readings, quiet moments of reflection, and warm conversations that bring faith to life.Join the journey, stay consistent in God’s Word, and grow spiritually one day at a time.📖 Subscribe on your favorite podcast app or watch on YouTube. 🎧 Listen daily + find the full reading plan by following along in the Daily Bible in Chronological Order edited by F.
