JULY 21 - Wise Eyes and True Treasure3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:14–15; Luke 21________________________________________“‘Bad, bad,’ says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts. There is gold and abundance of costly stones, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” — Proverbs 20:14–15“He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, ‘Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.’” — Luke 21:1–3________________________________________Have you ever bought something cheap and bragged about how you got a great deal—even if it meant someone else got the short end of the stick? Or maybe you’ve seen people show off their wealth and thought, “They must be doing everything right.” But Proverbs 20:14–15 reminds us that wisdom and honesty are more valuable than gold, and Luke 21 shows us that God sees the heart, not just the numbers. A poor widow gave only two small coins, but Jesus said her gift was greater than all the rich offerings. Why? Because she gave with trust, not for attention.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Value Check: Are you chasing the kind of wealth the world values—or the kind God treasures? The world sees money and stuff; God sees faith, wisdom, and generosity.2. Heart Over Hype: Why do you give, serve, or speak? Is it to be noticed, or because it’s right? Jesus saw the widow’s humble heart and praised her, not the rich and flashy givers.3. Honest Gains: Proverbs warns against being sneaky or boastful in deals. Are you honest in how you treat others, even when no one’s watching?________________________________________BOTTOM LINETrue treasure isn’t in what you own or how much you give—it’s in the heart behind it. God values faith, honesty, and wisdom more than wealth or reputation.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, help me to see the world the way You see it. Teach me to value what truly matters and to give with a sincere heart. Help me to be honest in my actions and wise in my words. May I seek to please You, not just impress people. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
