July 25 — The Weeping Prophet Begins — Chronological Audio Bible Reading | Jeremiah 1–3 | Resolved to Read
from The Resolved to Read Podcast · host Jennifer Jolene Deal
In today's reading from Jeremiah 1:1–3:5, we begin one of the most personal and poignant books of the Old Testament. Jeremiah is often called the "Weeping Prophet" because of the deep grief he carried for his people—a grief that mirrored God's own heart. Called as a young man, Jeremiah is warned that his message will be rejected, yet he is told not to be afraid, for the Lord has put His words in his mouth. These opening chapters confront Judah's shocking unfaithfulness: a people who once walked closely with God have now wandered far from Him, exchanging the fountain of living water for broken cisterns that hold nothing. Yet even as God exposes their wandering, He calls them back with aching love—reminding us that the Lord still grieves over sin, still calls His people to return, and still offers living water to all who will come.Resolved to Read is a daily chronological Bible podcast guiding you through Scripture in one year—with short readings, quiet moments of reflection, and warm conversations that bring faith to life.Join the journey, stay consistent in God’s Word, and grow spiritually one day at a time.📖 Subscribe on your favorite podcast app or watch on YouTube. 🎧 Listen daily + find the full reading plan by following along in the Daily Bible in Chronological Order edited by F.
