We see in these verses that things changed for the children of Israel and over time became almost unbearable. This period of time was 430 years, which might seem like a long time, but for the changes that occurred, I’m sure they felt their lives had been turned upside down. They were saved from death during the famine, but now they were facing slavery, forced labor, harsh circumstances and as we will soon see, loss of life. We are so fortunate in the US, that most of us won’t face these things, but there are many people in the world that face some of these same things today. Thank God for how He takes care of you today. Pray for those who are living in unbearable situations. Praise God for something specific He has done for you that you know you don’t deserve.
