You don't have to be the source. You just have to be willing to be used. Paris and Corey sit with what it means to be an instrument rather than the point of the whole show. Humility is knowing that I am not the source, but a vessel. Today opens with the seventh step prayer — my Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad — and calls it exactly what it is: powerful. Our higher power isn't just a concept, it's a relationship, someone we can go to specifically when we need something. And knowing we're not the source changes everything about how we shows up in our own life. Romans 12:2 anchors the transformation — do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind — and page 51's promise that the consciousness of God's presence, once it becomes the most important fact of your life, is itself a powerful reason to have faith. Page 76 closes the loop: surrendering the shortcomings that block him from God and from the people in his life, so he can be used instead of getting in the way. As I surrender my shortcomings, I become more available for God to work through me in love and service.
