It is the July birthday shout-out episode. It's finally arrived. I think you guys have been excited about this one. We've gotten more emails for this month than any month so far.

So I think our birthday shout-out is catching on. We're very excited. So here we are. I'm in Greenfield and my co-host, I'm Adele.

My co-host is going to take it away. Lou, go for it. Every fucking year there is a day. All the day that you were born and people say, you should get everything that you want.

But no one really knows what you want. Wrong impression. That's what you want. It's backly.

I forgot the last line. Something did it at two? I forgot. It's okay.

I changed the line to shine it like a diamond. You're buying one, shine it like a diamond. I always think of, is it Rihanna who's like shine bright like a diamond? She's got that one.

Yeah. That's one of Rihanna's. That's one of Rihanna's bangers. Oh my god.

We love these old people in here. Hello. Oh, oh, hey July is my birthday. Hey, speaking of old.

Yeah. Oh, you're looking good. Oh, you look nice right now. This is a good lighting angle right now.

This second you're looking nice. I thought I was bright red. You looked bright red right before we hit record and then you just sort of moved and then the light hit you dancing across your little face. Oh, so yeah, here we are.

Do we start in with the shout outs? Yeah, we got we got at least 10 shout outs and we got to get going on this. Okay. Indeed.

There's so much to do. Izzy has tutoring in an hour and 10 minutes and I don't know. Number one, it's from Jessica Reed. Are you going to read that?

Yes. Awesome. I can read. I told that to somebody.

They're like, wow, I'm reading a book about the laughing hyenas, John Brannins, John Brannins, brilliant bands and someone said, boy, you really read a lot of that book. And I said, yeah, I can read. July 25th is the date that Jessica is looking at. Oh, okay.

So her birthday is still coming up. I want to give myself a birthday shout out, she says. I share the same birthday as Thurston Moore, celebrating my birthday on July 25th. Thurston is a July guy too.

Well, happy birthday Thurston too coming up then. I didn't know that. It's like a July guy to me. I love the podcast, particularly for track man.

I can barely fucking talk. He always makes me laugh with that slightly unhinged energy that he brings to the pod. I wish Fort track man could be here, but I'm on tour. I did bring a tape player with me that I thought Fort track man could live in, but immediately mangled the tape that I put in it, the tape being the birthday present from Michael Azeroth.

Oh, no. I think he's kind of started a tradition of sending me a cassette every time it's my birthday. Is this the second year in a row, right? That he did that?

He sent me a cassette. It's so sweet that he remembers and then sends it and it's always like ahead of time, you know? So is there on time? He's the guy that wrote the book, Our Bank of Be Your Life, that had the big thing, the really depressing dinosaur genie chapter in it.

I had other things too, but yes. I have plenty of other things that are really interesting things about all the interesting influential bands. How are you on right now? What's what's I mean?

What's happening here? Who do I blame for this? This is this is a legally purchased gummy five milligrams sativa. I believe I took it three to four hours ago.

It shouldn't be affecting my speech the way it is. I feel like I'm nervous because this is our big July birthday episode. So I'm actually a bit nervous. Let's continue.

So that was Jessica reads a shout out to herself for her July 25th birthday. Okay, Jessica. And then now number two from Aaron, whose birthday was July 16th. Okay, day before yours says my name is Aaron Bernard from the Salem, New Hampshire area, and I'm turning the big 40 on July 16th.

The big 40. Okay. I think what you two are doing with the podcast is awesome. And at times, hilarious.

At times. This is so sweet. Lou's talent is a big inspiration. I caught him a few years ago playing a backyard in Beverly Mass.

We were there. And last year with the folk implosion in Portland, Maine, some of the best shows I've ever been to. I would like to say I think that Aaron's message is really, really nice and shows how much he supports you. This is from Jenny Wagner, the date July 28th coming up then.

Okay. Hello, Lou and Adele. So my husband, Alex will not stop talking about you guys and how much he loves your podcast and music. There's been multiple times he's come home from work to show me clips of the podcast.

And he is still laughing just as hard as he was when he first listened. Wow. I'm obsessed with that. That's awesome.

Alex thinks we're funny. That's a plus. He's jumped aboard the raw impressions bus. If you think we're funny, you're a saint.

Please don't ever tell us when we ain't. Always positive. Just positive feedback. Positive vibes only.

Positive vibes only. Obviously. And then it says, did you see there's a little bit more on the bomb? Which is really nice.

Alex is obsessed with your music and I'm planning on purchasing a vinyl for him for his birthday. What a great idea. Oh, okay. I hope we don't ruin the surprise.

Oh shit. No, he's going to be thrilled because when he said it. Yeah, it's actually in five days. She better purchase that vinyl because I'm leaving town and I won't be able to get to the post.

No pressure. No pressure, Gal. And you know what? I, oh my gosh, Alex, I love that we're such a part of your life.

Okay, number four. This is from Dan. It says, I turn 40 next week and I love your pod. God damn it.

We love you. Cool. Substack two. Yay.

So thanks for creating a space to hang out with you virtually. You're welcome. I have a nice, funny memory of Lou. He was performing a delicate rendish of Pearl as an encore with a new folk implosion at Academy three Manchester, circa 03 and a tipsy lady hurled near the front mid ballad.

Yeah, she yacked. Burfed the pro that Lou is soldered through the song and checked all was well before closing out the night. I said to myself, there's a man with heart and that ain't changed. Happy birthday, Dan.

Thanks for such a lovely email. We appreciate it. Now we have Dustin and he says, day one raw listener here, fan of blues through the years and proud recipient of a Barlow family holiday card. We did we send out all I sent those out one year.

I'm turning 44 on July 12th. For some reason ages 41 and 43 didn't really hit me with any force, but this one is hitting him with force. Anyway, thanks for doing these B day shout outs. Dustin Williams is a guy turning 44 on 12 July.

Try and the best that he can. Dustin, we salute you Adele and me. Definitely. Happy birthday.

Keep on keeping on. Would you like to read the next one or should I? Brandon Patton has requested to shout out, but he didn't give us the exact date of his birthday. No, but this is what he wrote.

This one actually made kind of a song. Cool. Okay. Okay.

Nice. I like that. I like that. That's a new thing.

That's a new one. That's a new one. That's neat. Oh, I like it.

That was for brandy. That's what Brandon had to say in the song. All right. Cool.

Thank you for the for all the love, Brandon. Number seven from Ben to Valeria, I think Valeria Valeria Valeria, July 10th, Big B. My partner Valeria and I are huge fans. Yay.

She turns 45 on July 10th. So she turned 45. That sound is good construction happening in our house. If it happens to show up in the recording, don't worry.

She turns 45 on July 10th. And I know in the world to her if you could give her a July birthday shout out. Well, I, I hope this is sufficient and I apologize deeply for not saying your name correctly. I'm doing the best I can.

And that sound is construction, right? Cool. That's cool. It's cool.

It's a great song. Free acne treatment on and beneath the surface and even visibly titans under eyes in one use developed with dermatologists for radiant results at home. Learn more at sharkninjat.ca. You've got social dialed in searches doing its thing.

Eight is from Jody Erica or July 2 birthday. I'm writing to respectfully request a birthday shout out for my lovely wife Erica. She's a big fan of on fire and joins me in her Sammy Hagar years when she turns 55. Okay.

It feels like I'm on fire like a birthday candle. You can't have 55 candles. Here's hoping one will do. I would.

I'd like to have a later impression. So it breaks you. Thank you very much, Erica. Thank you.

That's so sweet. Oh, there's that. I don't know if you can hear it. Can you hear it or is it just?

Oh, it's loud. It's loud. Okay. Well, that's right.

Let's get back to these birthdays from Ashley. Okay. I am reaching out to submit a July birthday shout out. My name is Ashley and I'm from Reading Pennsylvania.

The shout out is for myself. I love these people doing their own. This is like so great because self care, right? And goes as follows.

And I quote on July 5th, I turned 38 years old. I became a dinosaur junior fan after hearing the album you're living all over me when I was 14 years old. Coincidentally, the album came out the same year. I was born.

I think Ron Prussians is an awesome podcast that embodies the spirit of authenticity. Keep it raw. Damn it. That's like the nicest thing ever.

Geez. I know second record was released. Please use your S word, your favorite S word. Seminole?

Yes. Thank you. Our seminal 1987 album, you're living all over me. I know second record was released in 1987.

It's a beast. Ashley was born also. Now she's 38 and Lou is old. 38 years old.

That quote is so kind. So thank you very much. Oh my god. Oh my gosh, Ashley, you're going to love this since you're such a fan of the pod.

You know your luck is going to follow a really special little shout outs. She's proceeding. She's proceeding. She's following.

She's proceeding. You know what? Okay. It's fine.

Maybe it's my dyslexia kicking in. It's really hard to read things. It's hard, guys. I'm doing that.

I don't know. I've got this cute little like. So turning one on July 31st, I actually, I'm not going to cry. I'm going to try not to pumpkin and psycho candy.

Turn one. Those are our cats, our boys, our brothers that take it away. I can't. I can't talk anymore.

I'm going to. Oh my gosh. What? I'm not prepared to.

I can't speak articulately about what those two kittens have brought to our life. Oh my gosh. Since I'm so deeply grateful for pumpkin and psycho candy, even though litter boxes smell horrifically bad and cleaning them is one of my least favorite activities ever. Actually, I hate cleaning litter box.

That being said, what they give me is truly immeasurable. I'm obsessed with them. I love them so much. They are perfect, actually.

They're perfect. I psycho candy is a gorgeous, handsome noodle who he likes to lay really long and sleek and just show off and he just wants to be admired. He's incredibly sensual and just like, oh, and he's kind of quiet. You know, he's sort of like quietly hot.

Like he has like no meows. Like he has vocal cords. I don't know what I mean. Like a little squeak comes out.

He goes, he's incapable of it. His brother, however, pumpkin is very verbal. And he's actually the most intelligent cat I've ever, I've ever met. He's insane.

He should be studied, truly. I, yeah, really, really smart. He's wicked smart and we fetch all the time and he brings me all sorts of crazy things to fetch now. It's not just like the little fuzz balls around the house.

Yeah, he'll just, he found like a, it was like a mouse toy. He brought that to me. Yeah. Oh my gosh.

And he, he even tried to have me fetch something else. Sorry. I was just thinking about it. I was like, you've got something else?

Is it? Wait, he's having you fetch things? No, no, not me. I'm fetching.

He actually has reverse. Now I'm fetching. I don't see that. That's all right.

Holy shit, guys. He is so smart. I fetch now. Okay.

Anyway, pumpkin and psycho candy. Fucking a, okay. And I have to sneak this in after to sneak it in really quick. It's my clock says 5 17 p.m.

17 makes me think of Lou Barlow, who turned 59 on July 17th. I just want to say this guy, I don't know if you guys have known him or met him, but Lewis Knox Barlow is my favorite person in the whole world. Hands down. And he's just, he's my absolute fucking best friend.

Good news. Good idea. Wow. What I can't, I can't even imagine my days without especially after the last two weeks.

And he's been such a gem as he navigated lime. Truly was so it was so sweet. That was a challenge. That was a challenge.

You know, lime, right? What is what is the logic? Lime? I thought some, what that's sort of a woo woo person.

Yeah, Liz, Liz told me some cool, witchy stuff. It's like, you know, lime really gets your, your soul fits your weakest part. You know, it gets, yeah, it finds your weakest part. It's like, it finds it or something about that.

Like in my case, it found my insecurity. And it really inflamed it. You know what? Let me cradle here insecurity with my love, my love and happy birthday.

You know, who else? The great thing about my birthday is that a lot of other people have my birthday. And I've had really cool coincidences involving my birthday. One of which is I had two, the first apartment I lived in, I had two roommates.

And, um, it turned out that both my roommates were totally random people, one from Germany, one from where was he from? No, he was from Tennessee. No, he was from Tennessee. And we both found out, we all three found out on one day that we were all born on July 17th.

This is three random people, pulled from random part. There was nothing that brought us together other than the fact that groom was available. Wow. Northampton, Massachusetts.

So a guy from Tennessee, a guy from Germany and me, the local. Beautiful. County. So sweet.

Yeah. So anyway, but there's three of my favorite musicians. Oh, okay. On July 17th.

Okay. Oh, yes. I know. I'm missing a little song for these guys.

Okay. Louis really loves Panda Bear. No one that makes Panda Bear. And I'm a collective are sublime.

Years and years and years before their time. I recommend the, uh, merry way to post pavilion album. Be curious. Also the song tongs.

It's your birthday. It's your birthday. Welcome to a new year, dude. You surprise me.

Open eyes, maybe I can't wait to see what you do. Happy birthday. Noah, love, Lou. Geezer Butler wrote the words, words to almost every Sabbath song you've heard.

The ones I sing in the shower. And he's a bass player of supple power. He's a brother. But he just turned.

I don't know. 76 Ron Ashton played guitar. In the coolest band you've heard in every bar. No way he answers it.

He with a wall. In no fun is my favorite part of all. It's your birthday. Ron, it's your birthday.

It's my happy birthday to break out the aviators, switch to bass later. We have some things in common. Thanks guys. Noah, Noah, Geezer, Ron, R.I.P.

and Lou. And maybe. Yeah. Well, happy birthday to all you.

Momma. I want you to like babies. We love you so much. Thank you for sending us all your shout-outs.

All right. Here we go. Every fucking year there is a day of the day that you were born. People say, you should get everything you fucking want.

But no one really knows what you want. Ron Crutchins knows what you want. Well, birthday shout-out, right? It's your birthday.

Happy fucking birthday. Welcome to a new year too. You're on a fine one. Shine it like a diamond.
