Once again, we see that Rebekah manipulated the situation by insisting that Jacob leave the country and go find a bride in Haran. She did not come clean with her husband about the difficulties of their sons’ relationship and Jacob’s lies. Jacob did not realize that God was with him, but God continued to protect Jacob regardless of his faults. This is such good news as God is with us daily as well. Think about your daily walk with the Lord. Have there been times that you struggled, fell short or felt ashamed by your own behavior? How has God brought you comfort? How has our God gotten your attention? Through His word, through a song, or maybe a preacher’s sermon? Rest assured God loves you and is waiting for you to run into His open arms.
