“Tempted and Tried” • 1st Peter 4:17-19 - Elder Bryce Lowrance The old hymn tells us that when we are tempted and tried in this world that we will understand it all “by and by.” While it is true that, when we are in presence of Jesus, everything will be set straight in our understanding, we are not left without a sense of understanding now. Since our suffering is a clear evidence that we are the elect of God, we should respond by living like the elect of God. Rather than whining or complaining about how hard things are, we ought to be giving God the glory even in our trials. Why? because He is a faithful Creator and knows us and what we need.
