June 17 – Peace: The Referee

In today’s episode, Pastor Cory Barnes shares a devotion from Colossians 3:15, where Paul instructs believers to “let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” The word Paul uses for “rule” carries the idea of an umpire or referee—someone who calls the shots and determines what belongs and what does not. This message reminds listeners that the peace Jesus gives is not something earned through effort, discipline, or striving, but a gift freely given through relationship with Him. Pastor Cory explains that God’s peace is meant to guard our hearts and help us discern when something is disrupting what God desires for our lives. When anxiety, fear, conflict, or troubling circumstances begin to challenge that peace, believers are invited to bring those concerns to the Lord with prayer and thanksgiving, trusting that He already has provision and answers for every need.
