June 2020 Hit Rate

This BIG Idea is a project I am working on for a neurosurgery group.  We are trying to calculate a hit rate, or the percentage of new patients who are treated within a certain number of months after their first visit.  Listen to the podcast for more information about how we calculated the hit rate and you might make similar calculations in your practice.  I will also discuss several ways you might use a hit rate calculation in your practice, especially as you try to reopen appointment slots and fill surgery or procedure slots at the same time.  There are several tangible benefits from understanding hit rate in your practice, by provider, by payer, by location, and over time.  I hope the concept is helpful for you.
