June 26 – Think Over These Things

In today’s episode, Pastor Jenny Dirmann shares a devotion from 2 Timothy 2, where Paul encourages Timothy to faithfully pass on what he has learned and then uses three powerful illustrations—a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer—to describe the Christian life. Rather than rushing past these examples, Pastor Jenny highlights Paul’s instruction in verse 7: “Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.” This message reminds listeners that spiritual growth requires more than simply reading Scripture; it requires taking time to meditate on it, reflect on it, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal its meaning. Like a soldier, believers are called to avoid becoming entangled in the priorities and values of the world. Like an athlete, they are called to live according to God’s ways and principles. Like a farmer, they are called to labor faithfully with hope, trusting God to bring the increase.
