The Life of David: Part I David's story is one of the most compelling in all of Scripture. Shepherd. Warrior. Poet. King. Israel looked to him as the ruler who united a nation, defeated enemies, and led God's people into a new season of hope. Yet David's story is far more than the rise of a great king. Behind the victories and triumphs was a man who wrestled with fear, failure, temptation, and regret. Though he was called "a man after God's own heart," David's life reminds us that faithfulness is not about perfection, it's about continually returning to God. In this series, we'll explore key moments from David's life alongside the Psalms that flowed from his experiences; from his anointing and his confidence in the Good Shepherd, to his cry for mercy after devastating failure. But David's story doesn't end with David. His life points beyond himself to a greater King yet to come. The shepherd-king of Israel foreshadows Jesus Christ, the true and eternal King who would conquer not nations, but sin and death itself. Through David's story, we'll discover how God meets imperfect people with grace and invites us to place our hope in the King who reigns forever.
