Monday, June 8th, 2026 — Today is National Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day, which somehow turned into an episode about ideas with remarkable staying power.Today’s episode looks at the beginning of what became the Bill of Rights… the publication of George Orwell's *Nineteen Eighty-Four*… and the debut of Garfield, a comic-strip cat who remains part of popular culture nearly fifty years later.Plus, the birthday of Frank Lloyd Wright, whose architectural ideas still influence the buildings around us today.A lot of today's stories ended up becoming about longevity:the ideas,the creations,and the characters that continue shaping the world long after their creators imagined them.Anyway… that's where June 8 eventually led me.
