Is there anything in these scriptures that might change your first impressions of Rebekah’s character? Favoritism can exist in families between siblings and parents.  We see an example in these scriptures.  What was Rebekah’s fear in these scriptures and why?  Why was Isaac’s blessing so important to Esau and Jacob?   These parents were looking at their “favorite” to receive the birthright which rightfully belonged to Esau, although he sold it to Jacob for a bowl of stew.
