Juneteenth

from Best Friend Weekend Podcast · host Best Friend Weekend

Happy Juneteenth! Aldo NICE, Los aka C.A.P. and Rumble Williams linked up to celebrate the holiday in the absence of Rog Smuve. Rumble led things off with his thoughts on the next phase of that Rona (01:00) which quickly pivoted to Aldo letting us know What Burned His Boudin this week including: spiking coinciding with the reopening of businesses (03:00), being country (15:00) and Juneteenth actually being a thing (15:00). The first story we tackled was a local Houston one as we examined the bombing of Bar 5015 from all angles (19:00). Next, we talked about some ‘black things’… mainly the murder of Rayshard Brooks (37:00) and how Mike Gundy’s controversial shirt choice is another reason we need to send our kids to HBCUs (53:00). On the back part of the pod, Aldo had Nothin’ NICE to Say about supporting the same black folks all of the time (1:07:00) before we wrapped with some Kyrie talk (1:15:00) and our thoughts on Dave Chappelle’s 8:46 YouTube show (1:21:00).
