Hi there, I'm Judy Croon. Welcome to another Episode of Laugh Long and Prosper – Shelf Help with a dash of humour when appropriate. I believe that humour is one of our best coping mechanisms-especially when we are facing stress and unknown times like Covid. Today is Monday. That means it’s time for Just Another Mindful Monday. On the phone with me today is Dr. Richard Amaral. Richard is a registered psychologist in private practice with offices in Markham and Whitby, Ontario. He provides psychological services in-person and online to adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Amaral received his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary in applied psychology. He received his Master’s degree in counselling psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, focusing on adolescents and addictions. His Bachelor of Science degree, also in psychology, is from the University of Toronto, the city where he is proudly born and raised. Dr. Amaral has special interests in addictions, anxiety, anger management, stress, trauma, and balanced living. He utilizes a variety of evidence-based strategies to help people heal, achieve balance and growth. Richard has recently almost completed his first book on a life strategy wheel that is very much in compliance with the indigenous medicine wheel philosophy.Which, right now, is also noteworthy and relevant to raise awareness.
