Just Ask Jesus
from Faith Revival Podcast Hosted by Faith Revival Center Church of Edmonton
Theme: When you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or battling alone — the answer is simple: Just Ask Jesus.Opening HookWe start with 3 questions: What’s the most notable prayer God has answered for you? What Bible verse tells us to ask in the Name of Jesus? Why “in the Name of Jesus”? What’s in the name? Why do we forget what Jesus has done and fail to apply it to today? We forget testimonies. We let today’s problem feel bigger than God’s past faithfulness. Why does Jesus require us to ask before He acts? James 4:2-3: “You do not have because you do not ask.” Asking builds dependence, humility, and relationship. God wants us to invite Him in, not live in prideful independence. Healing: Acts 3:6 - “In the name of Jesus Christ... rise up and walk.” Deliverance: Mark 16:17 - “In my name they will cast out demons.” Victory: Luke 10:17 - Demons submitted in His Name. Mission: Luke 24:47-49 - The gospel is proclaimed in His Name to all nations. The answer: Power, authority, and access.1. EDIFICATION: STOP STRUGGLING IN YOUR OWN POWER | Mark 6:45-52Jesus found the disciples rowing hard against the wind. They were exhausted and afraid. Application: What are you trying to fix on your own? Your finances, marriage, anxiety, addiction? Jesus was already coming to them, but they had to recognize Him and let Him in the boat. Truth: “Ask, and it will be given to you” Matthew 7:7. “You do not have, because you do not ask.” James 4:2 Call: Stop striving. Stop long enough to ask Jesus to save you from the mess you’re in.2. DISCUSSION: WHY IT’S HARD TO ASK | James 4:2-3Two questions for reflection:3. THE AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF JESUSThe Name of Jesus carries power because it represents His identity, victory, and exaltation.a. Salvation - Acts 4:12, Acts 2:38 “There is salvation in no other name.” New life and forgiveness come only through Jesus.b. Authority and Power - Philippians 2:9-11 “God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name.” Every knee bows, every power submits.c. Prayer and Asking - John 14:13-14 “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it.” Praying “in Jesus’ Name” means praying under His authority and for His glory.4. THE POWER OF THE NAME IN ACTIONThe Name doesn’t just sound good. It works.TakeawayWhatever you’re facing today, don’t fight it alone. Remember what Jesus has done. Come humbly. Ask boldly. Because the Name of Jesus brings salvation, healing, deliverance, and victory.Final Word: You don’t need a new strategy. You need Jesus in the boat.
