Just What I Always Needed: Prince of Peace
from Tallowood Baptist Church · host Duane Brooks
Isaiah 9:4-7; John 14:27; Ephesians 2:14-18As we light the fourth candle Sunday, I wonder are we at peace? Who vandalized our shalom? The supply chain for peace has been disrupted in our world. Judah faced the same problem with Israel and Syria trying to force them to fight against Assyria. What price would they be willing to pay for peace? Isaiah saved the best for last, as he pointed to a child who would bring lasting peace to the world. The Planner of Wonders, Mighty God, and Everlasting Father would become a powerful Prince to establish permanent peace. No King of Judah, before Jesus ever fulfilled this promise. Good news: our Prince has come not only to promise peace but to pay the price for it.
