This week in Lismore Local Court forest protector MJ Johnston had her day in court and had ALL charges dismissed by the magistrate. This momentous result was due in large part to the tenacious persistence and powerful advocacy of solicitor Eddie Lloyd. arguing that a person of such good character standing up for community values does not deserve to face punishment. Sean O'Shannessy interviewed these two extraordinary women to get their story on how and why this legal outcome was necessary and possible. Trevor Acfield is a social scientist with a background in dealing with issues of housing and community development. He is also a Sth Lismore resident and survivor of the climate emergency floods that devastated Lismore in Feb 2022.
