What Is Justification by Faith? The True Gospel Explained (Part 1)

What is justification by faith — and why isn't it the whole gospel? Pastor Geoff Youlden opens with the picture of a free house with no deposit required, but a repayment plan so large it would bankrupt you: a picture, he says, of what happens when Christians only grasp part of the gospel. If the free gift of salvation is real but daily obedience feels impossible, what's actually missing? Geoff lays out three components he says make up the full gospel: justification (God treating us as though we'd never sinned), sanctification (God giving us power to actually live differently), and glorification (Christ's return). Drawing on 1 John 1:9, John 15's vine and branches, and the story of Nicodemus in John 3, he makes the case that the fruit of a changed life doesn't come from our own effort — "without me you can do nothing" — and that a Christian's growth is meant to be as gradual as a seed becoming grain, illustrated through the prodigal son's slow journey home even after his heart had already changed.
