Aug. 28, 2024 ~ In a move many called undemocratic, the then Republican-led Michigan Legislature passed a state minimum wage hike ballot proposal before it could make it on the ballot in 2018, before gutting the bill with amendments during that year's lame-duck session. Now, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that the amendments were unconstitutional, reinstating the minimum wage increases.
