Vandaag kwam het Nederlandse kabinet met een brief over Nederlandse deelname aan een militaire missie om het Europese luchtruim te verdedigen tegen Iraanse agressie. Vooruitlopend op de missie is het Nederlandse fregat Evertsen al naar de Middellandse Zee gestuurd. Jan Willem Wesselink gaat erover in gesprek met viceadmiraal buiten dienst Ben Bekkering. Hij was plaatsvervangend commandant van de Koninklijke Marine en de militaire vertegenwoordiger van Nederland bij de NAVO.
