One thing we have to keep the mind is that we talk about it on the show But at the same time they come from two different points. They're all the same. You want to say oh? I need for me.
I don't know if I can speak very much This is the place where sports opinions collide dead in sports army host Kenneth B In joining me as usual. We have FIFO 24 7 2 4 7 all day We David Nikki do say from the no disrespect podcast. It's your boy. You should boy and joining us from the own deck TV podcast We got Spike Lew in the building.
What up. What up? What up? I'm happy to be here.
What can I find? I am Spike Lew on the Instagrams and the Twitter check out the on-deck TV podcast every Wednesday also on YouTube The on-deck TV podcast. We appreciate it. Appreciate you coming through He was on the is the mic still on podcast this past Sunday.
That's so fun. Yeah. Yeah, yeah I'm like a Sunday previous ago as well. He been filling in man.
Yeah, I'm here man. I'm six man off the bench I'm here. Yeah, the people the people like you. That's always the bonus.
I was at work today and um What's the dream Mike? Mm-hmm guys that worked this guy came up to me like man. Did somebody tell you he was with Mike I love that guy man. So when I even know you watch, you know, I love Mike But um, but yeah during that recording one of the topics we didn't get a chance to get to was about Colin Kaepernick We obviously gonna discuss that here tonight because it is a sports related issue, but there were also other Social issues that were involved with it as well With everything that went down, but we need a chance to talk about it But we're here tonight to give you all coverage on that along with of course Regular NFL stuff as well as some basketball we see your own Reddit asking for basketball topics So we got you we're gonna hit some stuff.
We know Melo back. They better know we know We're going for the title Unlike somebody we gonna talk about later he down to play for the game. You don't say he down to do whatever you got to do to be back in the lead Cap shot yeah, well, let's start right there It was a joke, but if you want to get into it, let's get into it my thoughts on are we talking about the whole capture Just the workout everything Then that's a lot to recap, but let's just go for what's happened recently So I think what was it like a few weeks ago or like this? We all get the news that I think cap tweet about it.
I think we talked about it last week that yeah I'm gonna do this workout and fill hit me up me and my representatives. We're gonna be in Atlanta And yeah, I'm gonna get my chance to do a workout for to be on a roster You need to ask some context already feel you want gloss over there. He really trying to go So I was I was talking about the first part. Yeah, I see and then go from there Okay, so when NFL hit up Colin obviously Colin said yeah I'm gonna do all of this and all of that but his representatives were like hey Can we move it because that's remember the NFL scheduled it for Saturday Saturday is not an office Saturday before game?
Yes, so how many teams are actually gonna go there with true representation for those organizations? That's number one right every time Colin Kaepernick tried to move it what did the NFL say no? So that already is is a knock against the NFL right? Let's move it to a different day can't do it.
Okay fine Whatever go ahead they even try that move it to another Saturday Anything that cap wanted to move the NFL was like no But even before that let's start with having this workout in week 11 exactly like when you bring in a backup quarterback in all of us I'm made with all we've been watching I've never seen invite everybody come by and type thing for week 11 Well, they do they do work out throughout the season. Yeah, I'll choose To my facility I will work you out with my people I will interview you if I'm the Falcons and I'm interested if I'm the Seahawks And I'm interested why am I going here with eight other teams and like doing these college drills with you We can play football right he also had two hours to respond Yeah, but the time frame, but did he accept it or not? You did okay, so that's that we're going you don't think he has to accept it right? He doesn't have to do anything Yes, he does because I think that he's still under the litigation is we're not under litigation There's a lawsuit out there.
I honest when I say he doesn't have to do anything That's not just me saying some please say shit It's literally he's proven that he does not have to do anything like about anything that I feel I slightly disagree because the man is been out of a job for three years So if they hit you up finally to come work to come work you're gonna But everybody who has a some sense of common some kind of sense They knew this was not something like you broke it down It's like they knew this is not something that's normal. That's that's in the that's in the regular procedure of how this is That's how we got to this point though because when you're the NFL you get to play by your own rules You own the shit Alright, so don't act like that you're it's raining and you pissing on calling and you're saying what we're doing All this for him and making it away from him to get back in the league No, you're not you're trying to make it look good So when this other lawsuit come down he can't say that you didn't give him an opportunity by any by no means am I Came from NFL we all know the NFL's a piece of shit They shady my focus what I'm saying is there's a sense of accountability that I feel like it's lacking in this conversation whenever I'm hearing it when it comes to as much as the NFL has thrown these traps out at cat like he could he He and his team should know better of how to avoid them or just not participate What do you think would happen if he said no, I think it's damn if you don't know it's not there's not no if you do what I'm not if you do what you're supposed to do though this lawsuit that I'm talking about it's still out there Like if I say no now they get lost a lot of money He still is not employed by the NFL he won the first one and that was for it up to that point now if he still is not able to get a Job he can still take them back to court and say that he's being black ball exactly and part of the reason why everything changed last minute Right because then I feel wanted to do it at the Atlanta Falcons practice for silly and flowery branch Right the reason why he went 30 40 miles away was because there was verbiage in that waiver that wouldn't allow Kaepernick to sue down the road Yeah, right the liability way exactly so so the NFL in that aspect is trying to control the narrative the other narrative was They didn't want any media there if the NFL has nothing to hide why not have the NFL network there Why not have open to the media open to the person's a private workout wasn't that what it was agreed upon why though But I'm most of their workouts probably don't see a lot of None of this is normal once you put me in a position where people are going to be there then why can't the media be there? I don't want you to why are you against that? What is the what is the media like for me?
This is what I'm saying this is what's confusing about it because I'm not really picking aside But I there's holes on both sides for me. This is what I'm confused about if you are unemployed and you're going to an employer for a job There's a point of you're gonna have to compromise on on getting that job Not at this point because why not because Colin Kaepernick has already been through the paces where he doesn't have to compromise himself anymore Because he's already he's already improving that the NFL is shady and the fact look part of the reason why I Part of the reason why I said everything that I just said is because if there isn't media there right and then the NFL can spend that narrative all sorts of types of ways Right, right? Con Kaepernick and got it a more calico more calico Capernic and got an arm and then he can't he doesn't have the access now because of the NFL rules and stipulations to send out his video Mm-hmm, right? He can't send it out to the media He can't post it because he would assign all of that away by doing it the way that NFL wanted to do it But the media wasn't a breaking point.
It was the fact that he couldn't even waver It was the waver and it was a story but the breaking point for him was the the lack of a video team on his man Yeah, that is the media. No, no, no, he wanted his own independent media Yeah, but I think if he would have gotten media if he would have gotten a videographer there to record the workout Then I think he would have been okay with the media not being there So the NFL would have recorded theirs and he wouldn't record it his own version of it So he wouldn't get an edit down version of raw footage from the NFL But my thing is and when I found out about this whole workout I'm confused because why do you want to work for the NFL still after all that? He's been through after all the shit that we just said that we know how to NFL is shady and shit It's like why do you want to be employed by this? Well, I don't think that you can knock the man's dream, right?
So we take it even further back. He took a knee not because he wanted all of this He took a knee simply because he was pointing out something that was important to him in community, right? And it just happened to have a high profile job who the employer doesn't like that now He lost his job not because of that they claim because he can't perform anymore We've seen a lot of people that are less than him in the same position get picked up He still probably wants to play football, right? Football is the term that I'm interested in because football can mean CFL football could be the year of the year of the year I'm not a man I'm not a man If I lost my job supposedly because I can't perform but I've seen all of these other people in the less than me get jobs And y'all are not even giving me the opportunity until now on a Saturday and week 11 That's still doing the same thing.
It's three years later That's the same thing when y'all kick me and black by me I'll leave the first time so why do I need to speak and tell people if I want to play football if I don't want to play football He holds all the power by being quiet No power Because he'll be able to prove collusion, right? He already almost was doing it, but why do you say why he said so this is part of the reason why the waiver was such a big thing And why he moved his workout because in that waiver it he waved the right to then sue the NFL later down the road And that's also why the media was a big piece of that as well because you're not gonna be able to paint whatever narrative that you want To then now ex-amie completely and completely shut me up So this was a stunt on the NFL's part to completely black ball Kaepernick by him signing away that waiver by him not being able to bring his Own media because now they control everything by Kaepernick doing what he did now He controls the narrative and then now he can prove in a court of law look at all of these other quarterbacks that they sign They can't outperform me if we go back to the last year I performed in the NFL, right? I think he had like sixteen touchdowns and five-minute sessions 19 like 2000 y'all just like that You know saying about average these guys aren't better than me and I'm not worse I'm not that much worse than them why haven't I got an opportunity and here goes the media right here We just had a workout do I look like I'm worse than these guys that work I wasn't It's also the waiver my thing is what I'm reading up on is I do believe that the NFL added some shit to a liability But they do usually have every worker I believe they do have a liability waiver even at the compound. Yeah, but stop stop right there You know that's a different waiver.
No, I think they did add some Stuff that they added that's what I want to know your thoughts on Again, I've stated the NFL is a piece of shit. I know they're shady. So I'm not surprised What do you think though like what what she it sounds like you have an issue with him not oblige into what the No, because I am I am genuinely confused by what he really wants out of this and how Because of how he's going because of how he's going about it like he's going about it Do you think he should have waved all of his future rights to sue the NFL? That's even worse than taking the work out You're already questioning why he even wants to play football if he the client will work out they were all said Oh, you never want football why does he want to work with NFL he can play football elsewhere?
Once the play for the NFL I would not want to like why wouldn't I want to compete at the highest level It's just because I did something while pointed out my point of view y'all abandoned me from this from my dream The word Had to go to the CFL to prove after being out of the game cussing pommel retired for a year came right back Yep, right back to Arizona wasn't a workout required The food he was in the CFL for three years and got picked up it wasn't a work out Why before you before you even go outside of Teddy Bridgewater who's a better backup in the league the Kaepernick right now right now? I would probably say garner a mission, but that's because I just need a reason. Okay fine. I'll give you one you gave me two Exactly one more Teams, bro.
Yeah, you probably out there I'm not three are you agreeing? No, I want to hear that your mouth. Yes, I'm top three back of quarterback in NFL right now So then why the hell he got to go through all this because of what he is because of him not conforming to the Thing that I think that's the whole that's my whole problem with your generation and What you guys are saying cuz I read a post about this too and people are saying what he's supposed to step up and be this Revolutionary Colin didn't ask for that. No, I'm not that's not my point.
Go ahead What you're saying that you are asking for more of him You want to know his plan is process or what he has going on wait Lisa let you know what he wants to do I want clarity on on on cuz to me is like out in the beginning when he took the knee Everybody named I was sorry with him on it. I know I was as far as what he was representing his message since that need till now That message has been stripped down confused and now Talk about Exactly look at where that started look at where we are now Relatively How we got to where we are right? That's what I'm saying. That doesn't mean it's not irrelevant Because it's the whole reason why he's not the lead but Collins never changed his position on the message No, he's never to come out and say I no longer care about black kids being shot by police He's never changed his position.
No, he hasn't but he hasn't really spoken on it either Spoken on his platform as far as yes, I'm doing this Because what he needs this is a job interview right this workout is a floor and when you reduce it to a job interview I'm playing so why this is because we all know that he's a top he's a top three back up right now They want to say any of the prove it to the to the world in the league that he is not the same way Josh Freeman He's a prove it or Johnson whatever Least it has to do more than that because I'm not have to do more That's the thing about America he shouldn't have to do anything like this I agree with you all I agree that he was black balling kick out the lead But if you're asking to get back in someplace that they kick you out of of course you gonna have to do more No, that's I don't know. That's what I was saying. You were kicked out unfairly I should not have to conform to what you guys are asking me because you did what you did talk about the reality of the situation I know why I say that's why I be quiet him being quiet is how he holds the power because the moment he opens his mouth And like what you say that's reality situation he's trying to get back into the lead he listens it No, I'm gonna be quiet. I let you guys continue to paint this narrative That's why he said I've been ready over here.
I've been ready for three years They keep moving to go post there were there were comments a couple years ago about we don't see him posting about football on They started doing all that then it was like I don't think he wants to play football because he hasn't said yet He wants to play football. They've always moved the countdown clock to give it to the I'll say this remember we had this conversation on my podcast well as far as the JZ where's cap I said if this is all if at the end of the day we get to the point where this is all about catching a job I don't give a fuck because I don't give a fuck about this nigga having a job the whole point that I cared about his platform his What you should know was originally about his but he when he took that chance and he kept on going out He knew the risk that he was taking about possibly It's not right exactly and that's exactly what Muhammad Ali did right in his time He changed the government he changed the perception of being drafted right Colin Kaepernick has to stand up What does he change in the NFL with his message? What he's changing is is that you guys think is got that deal because of Colin efforts and what he's changing is even when you go to And I know we went a long time and I mentioned this why is it in the field reaching out to partner with JZ about social reform? Like that doesn't happen before Colin Kaepernick.
No, that's a change They are making an Adedicated effort they claim with a Malcolm Jenkins situation with the JZ situation hell They even said players if y'all can come up with causes will give y'all money to we ain't got to be JZ Oh Malcolm Jenkins let us know what y'all want to do in the community so now we're like this is all have a post cap So now we're cool with the JZ deal because this is the So we're not cool with it. So that's what has changed No, but all of us No, just because we may or may or may not be cool with something doesn't mean that things haven't changed They have changed and the reason why they change was because of Colin Kaepernick now The reason why Colin Kaepernick is blackballed is simply because he knew not because he couldn't play yes and all counting Because he started it before not because he well it is because he was the leader of the effort of Exactly and the reason why I want to make that distinction is because we can go through a list of people that still in the NFL That's no exactly they're still kneeling to this day Right, but at the end of the day the NFL is a pay for performance type of lead Yes, or no, yes, and you just told me that there's only two backup quarterbacks better than him. Why is he not in the league because of his message? But that's what it is right if he didn't do it He would be in the least though, right?
Okay, but that's that's the point that's the mess up part right? It is but you gotta change that how do you change that by calling doing what he's doing? But will that but again work this is not we're not questioning about the message and what he's trying to change request I'm more confused about why he wants to get back in the league and why he wants to play football. Okay, so what he did Do you think he'll get back in the league based off with what he this whole how this whole situation played out?
I'm not sure if I don't know if there's a team out there that's able to give him a fair opportunity I think that's why he's going to the court system to say I do want to play football I do want to know that I do want to play football But I'm not sure one of these 32 teams is going to give me a fair opportunity to do so and I think there's a possibility He will get back in the league because that lawsuit is still available So he's working himself on end of school No, he's not forcing himself on to an NFL team and NFL team will make a decision to hire him because they don't want another lawsuit So why would you take the position of forcing himself on in a team as opposed to he lost his job of speaking his mind? He did lose his job of speaking his mind. I know who no, I'm not it's not a This is so I'm saying I'm saying what I'm confused about is the fact of with all the stuff that he fought for in a Shit talk he did it against the NFL at the same time you asking for them to pay you for you Again, I play football that he would not say he willingly gave that up by his car No, no, no, I play football, bro. I have a platform I just wanted to point out what was going on over here that I thought was wrong that doesn't mean my platform has to come crumbling down I'm not able to do so I'm not man me forever from it shouldn't but it did and people around there are other people that are in the lead that did the same thing Oh, but you said no the man Well, yeah, I'm it says that he's a quarterback That's the reason why he got pushed out because all the other people who kneel and they play different positions That don't get as much by like as the quarterback, right?
So that's why they had to as the quarterback you are face of franchise face And I'm at the one point in time he was becoming the face of the league So when he was doing that, of course, then again, we know the NFL shady and the media shit We talk about you know, how do you change it? Like if you work for an employer, right? Like there's plenty of people that have sued the company they work for so the company Right and all I'm saying is is that if we know it shady we know that they don't necessarily have the players best interests at heart How do we change that because we we run the damn lead without us there is no NFL We don't run the lead because if we ran a league he would got a job by now look man If all if every player in the NFL said we are on strike, what do you think is gonna happen? We drink it we're doing what we're talking about this because we know we know damn sure they're not gonna do that Because they would have done it everybody was asking why I'm more black players coming out to support yet So I'm talking from an extreme standpoint But what I'm saying is the realistic standpoint is cap they way he did and he shouldn't be black ball for doing that I agree with you that's it when I when we're talking about getting a job That's what we're talking about in the day right for this for this specific But I also made you agree to the point that the NFL is paid for performance.
Yes, you said yes Yes, and he could perform so what's the problem because he didn't because even though it was but pay for performance Like are you gonna know, I'm not on the payroll I don't care about the NFL But when I'm talking about it when when one if Jay-Z was the guy who's instrumentals far as like a bro Give this guy work out at least for me So we can possibly get on our NFL roster if I'm gonna vouch for my guy and he does what cat did I'll be like bro. What was going on? Why did he do it again? And I think that's because the biggest thing is that first of all get Jay-Z all the way up the fuck out of here We have him doing this because it's reputation to the hit that's some fucking bullshit I don't know if that's true, but oh, you know, that's true.
You said it up though, right? Huh, would you believe half? I'm saying did I say it for I said it Jay-Z so I don't know if that's true either So I'll say if he set it up the rumor behind him sitting up is because he's upset about the backlash that he'd I went now I went thinking like that, but We can't believe one and I thought yeah, so Right, okay, so he set it up and the reason why he set up is because he's reputation to get hit or he did Okay, so then I'll say he didn't I think I think I think Jay-Z he would have everything he's doing I think it always is a strategic is calculated Why don't you get the benefit of the doubt like this? What do you mean?
So if you're telling me that everything that Jay-Z is strategic can calculate all I've heard from his JZ stuff It's waiting seat waiting seat wait and see he's been in this position three four or five months give a take right barely that Kaepernick's barely had three years to change the whole generation of how to interfere with being a people like man He ain't saying that he ain't didn't and why ain't Kaepernick getting to wait and see approach just like you're giving Jay-Z He said he's so thought out and articulate and he's done all these wonderful things and you know that he's gonna come to Say that they like you some superhero what Jay-Z was trying to do in my opinion was save his reputation like you said I was putting this position to make sure to cap did this then a third I could get the community back on you guys side didn't really happen that way I took it hit so how about you guys give cap a workout so it make it look like I'm doing something here Okay, so that's your first point when you said how come I don't get the same bill for cap as far as me and calculated It's because of what the first thing you mentioned was that I don't when you said cap didn't think this was gonna get that big That automatically means that you did not plan things that long So that's the case then everything that's come that's come out the way it is It's based off of me just going off the top right here. All right I'm just trying to make something the best out of the situation that I'm in I think that's what cats been doing I for again I've I've supported cap from the beginning, but I thought he was more of a He was just he shouldn't have been the the the leader of this I think he was great as far as bringing up the message and I wish he would have collaborated with the leader of this the NFL So so so cap was just being cap because cap bin kneeling before the media latched on yes And before the NFL made him the martyr. He'd been on this message Bro silently talking on his platform. Yes, the people that are important to him.
So so to hear you say that man say what I'm saying To hear you say that that like Kaepernick Like just just the the like your perspective on Jay Z versus Kaepernick is very interesting because it just doesn't make sense to me Bro like because again you are giving Jay Z all the benefit of the doubt and I'm not saying the benefit of the doubt I'm just saying if if Jay Z set this up then this did not go the way that Jay Z wanted to go and that's based off of Cats actions right when we're talking about the bill that she was just saying that Jay Z set this up out of goodness of his heart not Because he was receiving back because of their relationship earlier and that Jay Z got a strategy in capital Jay Z accepted a position with the end of the day. So you don't think that Jay Z is a calculated businessman You don't think the camera I'm asking people I think he is okay. Do you think cap is a calculated businessman? I think he is okay I disagree based off what I'm saying I think that Kaepernick had a mission and a reason it got blown to hell up did he calculate that no because that was not his intent So it's not to get as big as he is no it's 10 is intent was to fight for social justice Exactly that was it that was the only issue that he had right and and he's done an admirable job of that There's a lot of change that came out of that Not change that y'all agree with just this change because the biggest change that I talked about was the Jay Z I said the Malcolm the Malcolm that's name he added the Daisy thing I mean I mean I was cap and his camp disagree with Malcolm Jenkins.
I don't know I mean it was reported that's a good disagreement that they have I don't necessarily have to agree with the disagreements because I'm not there I think they were trying to know it's kept to get the drop the lawsuit I think from what I was reading is that if there was incentive for Malcolm Jenkins to convince cap to the drop the lawsuit that way the Initiative that they were working on with Malcolm Jenkins cap will be included in there And there will be more money going to them if they dropped it cap didn't agree with it because he had a Also pending that he wanted to stick to Malcolm Jenkins in so then that again So what we doing here if they offering to do this for us Then why did he settle if he was willing to take even further why do I because he still Going through the time I He lost his job, you know, I'm just saying like again if you have a case He's the only I thought he was if he was one of I thought he was one of those jobs So y'all just lose his job. I'm saying is like I'm thinking he's going into it Like okay, if I keep going with this route of me doing his protest me taking his knee I may lose no all he was saying is I shouldn't lose my job, but he sure was never I say may lose my job I'm taking exactly all I'm doing bro. You don't think he thought he's a little bit from his perspective Bro, you waking up on a Sunday morning going to do what you doing you like damn this fuck up what I seen on the TV You know what I'm gonna do something about that. I'm gonna take a knee he wasn't thinking I'm gonna be Muhammad Ali doing how I'm doing is taking a knee and pointing out some that's important to me Everybody else took it around with it exactly and that's why I made it the point to say that Colin was doing it before they made him Who he was he bended it, but once he got the spotlight He leaned into it right People around you if you were smart if you were in that position you I'm sure your wife would be like hey honey You doing this is round up a lot of people you make is this a Bro Muhammad I'm not listening jail for five years because he didn't want to go to war because he was drafted But he was not because I'm just saying that there was a time frame as to where things happen and now Nick is like We haven't heard from Captain Nick and I've heard all day has been three years Muhammad I'm not gee not only not only lost his title, but he's sitting jail for five years based on just something he believes in I'm not comparing it for his for his own selfish reasons right, but he believed in it Just like that.
I don't think we've had time enough to even measure what you're saying. What is he? But I want to stick to the workout right because I think that's That's really why we're here and why we have in this conversation. It's very unorthodox thing that happens Yes, and whether or not the NFL was sincere in what they were doing We already know how the NFL is we don't need to put that back out there Do you guys think this was a Trojan horse for who?
For Kaepernick that this was a setup to get him to avoid future losses I think that was the only thing to us for I don't even think from the NFL's perspective To be honest, I'll be getting my JZ thing and I don't think they say he even tried to lean in They had his no I think it was 100% to get him a drop and there was a report that Jeffrey Pash I think this is named for the NFL. He's the NFL attorney is the one that was spearhead of this old thing I think I think the NFL set this up to control the narrative moving forward What far is him if if Kat can or will get back in the league? So back based off of what FIFO laid out as far as they go to a NFL facility There's no outside media not even your own team can record it. We do our normal workout you sign this waiver So you know that happen before this request the two teams wanted kept but they didn't want the media backlash So they went to the NFL with the grievances and then this was the ultimate result was this big workout Because there were two teams that did show interest and those two teams didn't want to bring them in because everything that would have Happened to have the individual workouts so the cover part of the story was like let's do So then so then there were teams that actually wanted to see us was yeah, they did what I was legit Not the if they had had the individual workouts I come to our facilities.
We are interested in you. Let's do this how we normally do it that would have been legit This turned it into something not legit. I think this doesn't know as kid was saying once legal got involved And they said hey, here's an opportunity for us to get this out of the way This is when it turned into what we see now is the bottle so Nick you don't think that This had anything to do with any future lawsuits that this wasn't NFL trying to read themselves of that No, I think the NFL was definitely trying to again control be get as much control as possible and that will put in that loss Will make sense when it comes to control because if I can control the workout and on top of that make sure that moving forward Whatever decision happens you can't be upset about it to the point where you can make a legal case thing Yes, I think the NFL would try to do anything to gain control But that's that's my that's why I'm not but I'm not surprised by that like you mentioned earlier when I was surprised Was like how far cap was one to even go throughout this process because I'm like really there's so much bullshit right in front of you Why are you continue to say yes when we all know if we can see it then his team can see it his lawyer became I said, but I've been talking I've reached out to 32 teams not one of them said anything back to me So this I'm a little pessimistic on this whole workout, but you have to there's a big of calls You got to do this so when you take them to court they can't I thought with him being out of work. He was willing to be like I'm willing to die on this That's the bigger issue and I think that's the thing like the one thing that I hate that I'm hearing from a lot of people on TV is that Fairness and reality and at the reality is that I have to teach my son to do 10 and 2 and the reality is that it's unfair for a black man The thing is that in 2019 He shouldn't have to jump through hoops together You shouldn't be lucky to be in NFL quarterback The reality should be that he should be getting calls and the reality should be that the NFL shouldn't have to be slick to avoid future lawsuits To protect themselves from collusion and what's happening?
Also, also also protecting the shield is giving him a damn job Protecting the shield is making sure we don't we protect our ass Protecting the shield is giving him a job and putting the same behind you and moving it and that will protect their ass 100% and there's something that Ken said right and I know you you teach this to your boys and you know There isn't a reason why in 2019 going into 2020 that it should be this much harder for a black man It shouldn't be this much harder for black causes a bit easy though How do we change that is by having people that don't conform is by having people that stand out is by having people that stand for something You want you want this is a perfect opportunity and you want Kaepernick to conform why A lot of black people out there that are saying that he should just sound away People like you should just play in his bigger than this. That's why I'm saying. I don't want him to conform I wish he would take it to the I that's why I asked you about the settlement That's why I've asked you about the settlement. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm saying that's an example as far as I don't want you to Confirm I want you to take it to the NFL and But if you're gonna ask if you're realistic in asking for a job, this is not the way you know He's earned a look to be in the position that he's desiring to be like he's earned it I was a starting quarterback that took a team to the Super Bowl and the reason why we was great was because of me What's that Alex Smith, right?
Had a good defense that they almost went back to back so Great That year Was Special you know I'm saying it was gonna be the next one exactly so at the end of the day You don't fall from being a top five quarterback so I can't even play in the do you think if it was a standard waiver He would have done the workout as is yes, cuz I do too and the NFL being shady as they as they were But do you understand why NFL put that extra shit in there? No, I do not No, I do not no, I do not well Incorrectly I do because I think it was a troll I don't think this had anything to do with getting collar cap I think this had to do with them removing themselves for future losses That's why they put it in there and I think Colin and his team because they tried I think that's something that's not often reported either They tried the lawyers were on the phone with them They NFL wouldn't budge because this was their way. This was White America America has this they are masters at making black people the the They're making they have a way of making black people responsible for their action that way that when something right the rules Because when something happened they say it's something that that black man didn't do and they have a way of removing themselves From all of that this is played out historically if a man isn't where he needs to be it's because of him That's that this thing has been been this whole thing has been played out for years even when we didn't have rights It still is this today and they did it to Colin Kaepernick because the conversations that's coming out of this is that Colin Kaepernick didn't want to get in the League now is Colin Kaepernick's fault They are overlooking the fact that they wanted this man to sign away the one thing that we have fought for Since we've been on earth rights his rights as an American to be able to fight for gave old and rightful employment and The right to sue when else rights will be evaluated and then you know what's another interesting part Look at all these coons on TV talking about perpetuating exactly what you talking about Institution and and there may be people that are working in these places that don't even know they're upholding these I've heard so many You look you to be here takes it's disgusting to like just from people he should be happy that he's even like and we should be in 2019 like you to just so brilliant stay like we passed Here's a black In this country again, I got that we need to have for to realistic change they need to be more black ownership More minority you say you don't think we passed it. Where would you see a black man?
You say man, I'm surprised the black person doing what do you mean when I say past the position? I'm in like for Kaepernick with people or they're saying man He's black he lucky that he's even in the league So why is he causing all his records? And then I said it you said you don't think that we're past that in two thousand where would you see a black man and say I'm surprised that he's in that position. Well, I'm just saying like in America America was born out of racism Right, so it's gonna be centuries I think in my opinion for that to come out or that to even get to a level playing field where everybody can feel like a So that's what I'm saying it's been like that for generations That's why I like when I'm talking about the reality of things I mean like if you're gonna play the game like any any industry that you get into you don't have to play a game Let me ask you the Martin played a game the Martin Luther King played a game Mom and I lead him play the game the Malcolm X played a game and these are people that moved black society black community like years I had to play the game a little bit how he pick and chose his spots, but he was strategic in them But you know he went to Jell a lot Exactly and he knew exactly come on man like like at the end of the day We knew what he stood for and he didn't bend did he bend I don't think Martin Luther King bent He I think he did a little bit because at the end he may he talked about a lot of his thing I was already done things open make concessions He make concessions because in negotiations you're gonna have to make this is and that's what this is right big negotiation It wasn't an negotiation exactly what with cap there wasn't no negotiation and if it wasn't open for negotiation So then so then so then you got to stand by your principal So we're going into the situation beforehand Did y'all realistically think that this was like he was gonna get again like get a legit shot and chance to be back in the league from this workout March we was something about the situation is fishing and it It's better out.
Yes, right? Because That no and then you people you know on the days that they have off you know Saturday's right before they travel for the Sunday's the next day So anyone even they said it was at his new one was like eight teams with it. Yeah, well No decision makers with either like you know There was the Eagles vice president football operation I think he has a title where he can make moves I think there were any people there as far as GM's assistant GM's anybody there somebody from the Eagles was there that can make a move but I think at the end of the day Colin got to take out he has workout footage There were positive comments about it the league has it and now when he said the ball is in the court That's legit because now talent is no longer the issue and it never really was the issue But now it's proven it wasn't the issue we know or we suspect it But that was what people were putting out there. They were putting out there that we don't know if he could still play That is no longer an excuse.
We know we can play we saw it So now what are the reasons why the NFL won't give this man a job? And I think the NFL teams have to be really really careful about who they do go give jobs to they can't go find a Sits a guy that has played football in six years and bring it in they can no longer go find somebody who's been teaching high school Or whatever he was at and bring them in for a workout that's been out of the league for four or five years I think I think the NFL feels like they're the king of their own domain. Oh, they could do it There's a lawsuit coming and I think it'll hurt their cases in the lawsuit And I think collie cabinet while it may look bad and while a lot of negative things will be a set I think he came out Strategically on top. Why did you add that adjective before on top strategically?
Because I think that the way they went about this to manage to do Hate using the word call on a book because everybody's using it But but for them to at the 11th hour on that Friday when they realized the NFL would not budge for them to reach out to the community And to find a secondary location to hold this thing to lot to have the media come out when you see hundreds of people in support Two three people in opposition. So we already know that I don't think white people really care or not Whether I get some lead because they were not there in droves protesting against them. So we have visual evidence of that I think strategically When I met by that is that he has footage of a 40 to 50 minute workout that is in the hands of 32 NFL teams Whereas before this whole thing started he could have had none So I got to give them props for being able to make those moves at the last well that lead to what do you guys expect them to come out of this moving forward? Because people you've been asking this question as far as how do we make change right and I think it's gonna take longer than catch Life's time for to see change 100% or at least it's playing time to see change within the NFL What will never happen what could have happened because there were a lot of people that the hat caps back on the media For change it would have been for a lot of people To stick my cap where he didn't want to sign that waiver that would have given away his rights when they turn against them because They thought that he should just sign it anyway Because he wanted to play the league and before go his rights when they turn against him with that But when they simplified it do it being a job interview that was a problem because you can't reduce something as Complicated as this is with so much lack of trust on both parties and a lack of transparency There's something as simple as a job.
Well, I equated for a job because I think and I think everybody's able to agree that we know that Captain play so I think the workout was more of semantics I think with the GM's or those representatives that went to the Atlanta facility of Falcons facility They wanted to talk to him one-on-one to see where his head out and see where to see what they had the option Because like you said like you said spike like there were two teams But they didn't want the media circuits, right? And I think that's what a lot of teams they always talk about distraction NFL regardless of his cap or something else distractions They don't like that so when you're talking to someone who has probably one of the biggest platforms outside of football It's like okay, let's let's have a conversation Where are you at like how do we fit in your? Your agenda? How can you fit in ours type thing?
And I think that's what he when once we realized that all this shit was some bullshit He was like alright fucking I'm gonna go do my own thing all pay for play That's what it's more than that is but it shouldn't be it shouldn't be I really and at the end of the day That's Colin's standpoint. That's what he has on the NFL You pay these backup quarterbacks to come out here and play a position and I know I can do it better And the reason why he had to do everything the way he did it was to be able to prove that in a court of law Now he has film now He has team saying that they were interested now he can prove all of that think about in that settlement all of the stuff that the NFL is trying to hide the reason why they came to a settlement was because they didn't want these phone records They didn't want these memos and these emails and all of this stuff out What do you think is gonna happen now? But Colin has even more leverage now than he did before Yep, but that's what the NFL is afraid of but with because I think NFL things if you settle once you go sell it again Well, if he does that if he does sue them again, he's gonna be a I hope he does Win the case exactly Play football again, he may or may not we don't know I'm asking you do you think he will play football yet? I hope he does I hope he should have the opportunity he should have the opportunity exactly he should have a fair Opportunity because he is better than 32 other quarterback 34 other quarterbacks that we named or no He's the 35th best quarterback on the planet on the damn planet.
How does he not have a job? How do you not have a job? I put it to you like this right? I work in sales.
I can get into you right now I'm not the 35th best sales manager in my company and I have a damn good job You know I'm saying so at the end of the day he should have the opportunity I don't know if he's gonna play or not because it's not by performance where it should be because if it was yes He should be playing but because this is bigger than that I can't answer that because I'm not behind those course doors in the NFL But I know this I know Kaepernick has leverage I know that NFL is scared or Kaepernick or else they want to put that verbiage in that waiver or as they want to dig what they're doing now They're scared of Kaepernick and what type of power or what type of information he can make the NFL the ball They're scared of that and when I say the strength was inside us to complete the point and as far as what he's doing The reason that he is still standing strong being quiet because at the very least you don't want further generations of muffled You were talking about change you don't want people scared that they can't go speak their mind now Because they say oh man look what happened to cap bro. You know you can't do that now You don't want that to be the temperature in the NFL You don't want that to be the standard the quick-woke pro I would say as of you know You got to stay in line in order to keep your job here I think as long as cap is fighting this fight and he's giving future players that opportunity to do what they are able to do what they Need to do whether small as celebrations in the end zone or whether it's being as speaking on something that affects them in their community He got a hold out for those people too. This is how change happens. I think they'll play this a lot differently in the future They messed up.
Yeah, but they don't want to handle it and that's being a fail I think they only change I think the only change that happened with this CBA based on everything that cap is doing if this Doesn't ignite some fire in the players as far as their power as people you were saying if everybody quit today Then maybe things will change the CBA could be that I don't think so the time is perfect for it Isn't that Negroes have been Venus to submission bro And at the end of the day the reason why that's why you see black folks out here on TV talking about just do it Is the world trying to do it? It's not it's not that they don't want you they can't afford to Mmm. The much think about how many players there are per team, right? That's number one number two the majority of these players have non-guaranteed contracts number three It may be a lot of money to us, but it's not really a lot of money when you are a rookie You're undrafted you're on the practice team, but you can't go without your check.
I was speaking feeling he'll get back in Yeah, I gotta I gotta suspicion I doubt it. I honestly think I don't know if it really want those problems I think they'll be willing to pay him as far as loss I want this next law Because I was surprised they even got it settlement. I'm not cuz the NFL don't settle with cow cow They didn't feel really settled so so I the fact that they did Workout is proof. Yeah, you say have I say had but Because if you because to me if you have somebody if you got enough to where they're willing to settle that means that you've been taken a lot Further and that's the reason why he didn't sign his right to not take it further.
That was on this live in I'm talking about that so no, but understand that there was emails, but you know what but here's what I think happened That should have been out. I think his lawyers may have been smart enough to know that you can sue again Exactly and you can take the settlement now and if you in the next year and a half or two or still unemployed You can sue exactly and then the soup that's what gives you the leverage, bro The fact that again the NFL does not settle the NFL did not want that information or whatever information that Kaepernick said that that y'all Had in terms of blackballing me in terms of collusion and whatever that that that that that Kaepernick's people are saying right y'all settled Again to catch point we can re-suit down the line and all this is is just again more leverage We know that cap could play but now everybody knows cap Now everybody knows now there's not a question not because cap kept his silence that gave him the leverage because now He's not silent and what did that do it proved that he still has the arm NFL executives say he still got the fastball three years later I remember I remember I used to tell you cap captions they should yeah, this is why exactly because when the time comes I don't need to be boyshison all of that all I gotta do is prove my point and my point is that y'all can't you the blackball I just think this is a situation is confusing and I'm saying I'm confused as far as like what y'all are saying when it comes through Like he's been saying that he wants to play in the NFL right does any any clearly does because you try to do the workout But at this point is it more about him going to the tote NFL is him playing football You add stuff to it because I don't see how you can do both why not because it's like how can you sue the place to Get a job you never know because it's a private America, but this is America. This is America the company I'm not For this specific company have you ever seen that happen and how do we instill change it has to start somewhere and also This is on TV like this shit happens at Apple and Google and y'all when all of these big businesses all the time It's just not entertainment. Mm-hmm.
I'm saying it should happen Apple and pseudo who they sue the chip maker to make chips Not Intel Yeah, Quark on they do like a soften and Apple got into it back into the day over some bullshit This is America, baby. This is his right and I'm glad he did sign that shit away. He was like y'all not gonna trick me I'm not getting right out here. Just so it's a corporate battle when America's added to it Well, there's another thing that's even a Nick right.
I'll just say I'll confuse There was another big thing I guess bad I was going on on the but it was actually on the field It was a Pittsburgh versus Cleveland We get I don't know if this is a debate about this but My question for y'all is the Mason Rudolph is our city of down especially yes 16 games. I didn't see what Mason did Oh, you said Mason Rudolph on top of my house game. Yeah, you can't get them in the butts you think 16 Oh, we don't hear yeah, I didn't see the kick them in the nuts. Yeah, I saw him try to rip his helmet off That's what I saw Mason tried to win.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah That's only outside you say he'd be suspended makes a rule off. Yes, cuz he initiated I Know Like so we always so we just I bet you be with a missus man probably But my thing is like that's I'm not using my scary when he did but at the same time like if you don't start a fight and then you just get mad cuz you Don't go your way you got it. You still get the punch. You got a man with all the different exceptions.
He was having a tantrum That's why you're trying to take that hand on us. He was having a little bit of shit to him when he was tackling me It was a long day of sec right there. Yeah, it was a long time to get him in there But what you said shit, I think he's a good like a game to games I mean yeah, he did instigate it and I always say you can't judge a person's reaction once you get them to go But still like the man in the face of that You can't get a dude in the head with a Man, I'm not excused again. I think it I think them I don't like that indefinitely But definitely for the rest of the season if they go to the playoffs without doubt He should not be playing for 2019-20 season.
That's why they said indefinitely because it's gonna be over it We 16 is gonna be a wrap for them I think they should gave him maybe the first four You think is that a greasy? Because here's the thing luckily he didn't hit him with a crown of that helmet because he landed dead center I call my dad But if Miles Garrett would have just turned that helmet the other way in that crown would hit him bro Like we I don't know what could have happened, but that's way worse and at that point he might have just been exiled from the NFL You crack somebody's skull though come on man. That's that's bad So I don't think that the the suspension is unfair I think it's very fair and I think even half of next season is fair. Yeah I would have that could have caused like brain damage to something like that.
Yeah, but they may not open it Yeah, and I'm talking in extremes But what if like he would have just like his motor function like what if he would just wouldn't have been the same type of person Right like what if he couldn't speak? I think you had a concussion earlier this year. Yeah, he went limp like yeah Got knocked out early Like he just did it out of nowhere You push me and I shoot you people gonna be like I mean he did push him Cuz he'll shoot your ass that's what you gonna know for moving forward Of course we get that but at the end of the day that person that shot was Toned has been said Somebody was acting like they wanted to get his autograph and they gave him the pin to go this in as he was signing they snuck him and ran off I was taking all that out on my skin that dude at 6 5 6 6 That's what I said. I wonder why they did that but he is nice.
Yeah, he's like interview man like he does he listen to more than just rap. Yeah Like short amount of time he got a lot he wants to do he sit I was really I was really shocked when I saw like god damn he read like that. You do listen to more Chicago I'm sorry Forward well with that game the Browns one These Falcons man The job spectrum blow out the text I do not know cuz we are at least me and Ken talked about like man They should have made that a clock game said it is long this Rams bears game and shit I'm so different of course with a different time slot, but either way I do not expect that they're going they went in I think I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be a black super ball because I was looking at the playoff picture now Ravens Seahawks Even though I think we don't get to that be a top five but I think Lamar Jackson this is here and as much as I want I was expecting Russell to win it I think Lamar Jackson no pun intended to run away with the award. Yeah, I think between last week's performance not the Texans game But the Patriots no no who did he had that crazy run when he had to spend?
Between that game in this game and that's no that's no disrespect to what Russell Wilson is doing Because Russell Wilson had a crazy Monday night game. I was watching having a lot of crazy. He had a crazy table Game that San Francisco Monday night is crazy like yeah, so you know that that's no disrespect to him But what Lamar Jackson is doing look and I know I ate my words very early very very very early in turn I don't know because I didn't I didn't think he had accuracy Hey, I didn't know he had the accuracy and the touch that he has plus I think that what we're really seeing was what's kind of separating Lamar is kind of like my home's you throw from any yes We've seen the sidearm the between the flick he has he has I didn't know he had it like that and he's displaying that He's completing passes at a high rate. He's running when he needs to or when it's designed like he doesn't seem like he's out of control He seems like he is controlling that entire football game and then when you take that into into into into you know Like who's his wide receiver?
I'm really with Brown. You know what I mean? So so we give praise to the Tom Brady's of the world for doing it with no name guys You know do it just give that praise to the black quarterback because he's literally doing it with no name guys They doing it with three tight ends out there. He's using his arms.
He's using his legs. He's using his brain It's not just wildly I don't know man like he is calculated and because of all of that He's MVP right now I would say the biggest caveat for him again MVP is because he actually went head to head with us anyone any he actually was the reason why they want AC I don't think they want a lot of big games they want against the Patriots in Seattle They've won against all of the better teams in the NFL the edge for me to by far the blackest press conferences Oh hell yeah in the game Everyone of them like I love how unapologetically him He's like just period like he hasn't tried to pull the cam Newton. You know I'm saying conform and just like I'm here I'm here. I'm tomorrow.
I'm cold which I got to say what I got to ask me I think he enjoys me himself and I like he jokes about it. He's like yeah for a running back I can show that man. It's dope to me. Yeah, and you know like watching these Ravens all I could think of was yo I see me that Yes, thank you I I I I I got to give hardball credit for something That's amazing they're going to live in this off season and learn how he was successful during his eyes in the season And they took and incorporated that what they were going to do in season that was hardball's car So and that's what great coaches do they conform to their talent.
They don't they don't place talent into the box of what I do It's like okay, what do you what do you do great and let's maximize that that's the whole reason I know I was going back for between basketball football, but the Antonio That's why you're named a coach. We got it in breath, but dudes like a hardball right now, right? I May have cursed the Ravens by saying I came into the season The last 16 games that press guy has 4900 yards since a Mario's a mother could play since a maricou is guiding you with those 4,000 yards and only lost four games I want to say that press guy would say stop real me. This year.
I Agree Russell Wilson. Yes, I'm our Jackson. Yes, I press guy. Yes.
Tell me who the other person was who He's leading the league in passing yards, and he's I think almost leading the league in touch downs If not one or two is leading the touch now and your house that not MVP Look at this I say this they got a schedule and this is gonna get the worst coaching elite so he's gonna take some overcome Go ahead if he can have a good performance against the Patriots on Thanksgiving when everybody's watching against the bills And then we'll close out later on in the season against the Eagles Oh, it's a three marquee games that are gonna He already showed his ass the other day We had three straight Sunday night prime time games and Monday night games that is performing each of those games plus his cowboys Callways gonna get on the right anyway, maybe a cheat code But I think people talk about him more so when you start voting for MVP and it conversation comes up It's not crazy to have my side at the top if he brings if he's Brady and Foxboro that's all I talk about you got it You really have to start talking about and he he then or not has to win out But he's gotta he's gotta probably get them to at least 10 11 wins He got a win to big games. Yes, so like you say not went out, but he got a little more passing touchdowns, okay So he got to be the Patriots he has to be One the big game I want to say like too much of a policy because I do think the deck is a really good player And I think that he has the potential to be an elite quarterback But as a cowboy saying I do think that we have the words coach in the league and they were pretty kids It might be you know, Jessica right there, right? It's just a game is real close even in the league like day. Yeah, he shouldn't be but that's a whole nother story I say that to say if that was surrounded by the talent that the other young quarterbacks had on coaching side We try my Calamory and who he has when we talk about Garoppolo and we had to talk about McVay and golf dragon golf alone If that can that man he would be even better than what we're talking about now This thing like the office that he's in and what he's surrounded by as far as a coach instead He got the talent but the coach is that he's never had that innovation around him and he's overcoming that still So I think that's even saying what him is player golf is terrible, but look I want to This but I'm a big deck fan So when he played Mississippi State and when they were winning it's on the show like it's not gonna be we've been doing this podcast These last few weeks you ain't selling no that look I'm just gonna always just be fair in my criticisms So the only thing I said coming into this season was that deck is not top 10 coming into the season He was not a top 10 quarter and I came in saying he's top 10 And then he literally got for three years against terrible competition three weeks play good teams and went going three Yeah, which kind of point so I've always wanted that to get paid has never been about that I've always wanted to get paid and I always wanted to win I always I'm pro brother I've always pushed for black people to be successful on this show Even James Winston I and even to this day it's hard.
That's the one that you died on that's hard on that cross It's hard, but because I believe in this talent. Yeah, he just it may not click but um, but whatever I've always pushed into finish these guys on the show. I just don't think he's just top 10 I told you this year because they all hurt who because they got hurt The ribbles performance last night. We can cross them.
I don't think he was on my list there. Okay. No Russell Wilson's better than that Okay, one Lamar Jackson this year is a bit in that pat my homes I'll give you the shot watching here. We got the shot was it five.
We got you breathe. That's six Tom Brady I give you him a set now. I give you Tom right now. I'm we talking right now Anytime I'm a career with as a cow I give you I give you a day if you have one game to win Tom, right?
I'm picking that right now. That's it No, you're losing Brady can't Brady can't throw film Brady can't throw no mo you I'm a cow boy. You know I don't I'm a pain. You know I don't I'm a pain.
You can't hear me drew breeze. I say we count drew breeze twice Yeah Now we're talking Matt Ryan yeah curcussons now that's the leader the level that you want our curcussons golf What better than all Alan the only one that I would say depending on the year that would be better than that is Matt Ryan Depending on the year I give you so big bear before you got hurt was on the list. Yeah, and uh, we're talking big Banny cam he still make team you got a bear bear bear But I was saying was this was before the season though. Yeah, it was before the season I said he's going and I knew he was top 10 at 10.
What about my mother's I think that's yourself a better man. I would take I disagree Because Matt staffers numbers look better, but they don't equate to wins at least Matt Ryan And you know what I can't even say about big coaching though, and I think that football got a lot to do with a man Staff. Thank you. He is not He was nice I'm at Ryan when you have San Francisco that 49ers My question for y'all 49ers when I guess the Cardinals give you hope or make you pause it was the Cardinals Two picks no act don't try to yeah, don't act like they were down for a reason he had to come back when it was a comeback win So Jimmy Jimmy didn't nice though.
I don't know that he was just about pro I think it's a lot of the Patriots Lord still follow them around he plays well He's like a glorified game manager. I know I never seen him Prime me right now today at 35 years old I could go to the house I had a water pistol dog man. Yeah, he had a water pistol I'll do was crosses like when he ran to me he was throwing it down a few Because he got hurt that's why I want to take another way to see who Jimmy G You know I think he's still playing himself into like what he's gonna be I don't even think it's the next season right because you made a point right the last 16 games for that you said since he got who I'm our coop and who the hell Jimmy G got they just got a manual Sanders and went in that in that game against Seattle as soon as Emmanuel Sanders went out he looks a little bit that's tight in the lead when it's ever so do I wouldn't I know but to a few folks point kill to play that game that when he lost a manual But at the end of the day, I'm not saying that Jimmy G isn't a glorified game manager But so it's time Brady, but he just don't have the weapons on outside Kind of you know like like progress his career. I haven't seen him with those type of So to me where Jimmy G is in his evolution as a quarterback and I've been saying it for weeks now It's a lot of cows trying to putting them in the right positions You know saying that defense getting the ball back that defense is being a monster of a front seven Once I think Jimmy G gets at least one outside talent even better than a man because Emmanuel Sanders is nice You know they like he's a little bit tough at team I think it's because even in Denver.
Yeah, I forgot this dude. No, he's not he operated you like this I brought how Josh Gordon over him. Yeah, if he might number one option. I'm in trouble.
Yeah, man That's like oh, yeah, man. Exactly. Okay, so they don't really have a number one yet And once they get that I think Jimmy G will ascend even more you spoke about putting them in position. Oh, I think Kingsbury Fantastic I think he was going yeah, that's small out there, but I thought they were kind of exaggerating play on the home Well, I see he's still be getting off though.
You just see the position of Queensbury put it He's that ball and remember I said I said look I don't know how great he gonna be because that man is small But the man got the arm time you got that he got the arm time lick it. He's dead. Whoa, he like yo But all they're talking about is Daniel Jones. Sorry My last day do the brothers man the last question I got I Had a great run though His career numbers it supports all the fame you look at in context the battles he had against the Tom Brady's the Peyton Manning's in the world Like he like he deserves because if he was an NFC during his prime he would have faced those guys in the Super Bowl But the fact that he had a face them in the in the divisional Championship, you know, I won't say that because I think he probably be worse you trip They always had the best talent question Don't even know or feel it Really Has had more career success than for the first at least he's gone to Super Bowl.
He has how many share this you get Four touchdowns on a broken foot. Yep. So yeah Okay, I gotta take my bad side and go big now because you gotta remember for two years Phillip Rivers had the best team in football Offense and defense L T I think they only went once When they stomped on the thing That was the best thing in football No I went to the dolphins. Yeah, man, it was that.
I don't know how they didn't get to. Well, Tom Brady, man. Thomas Brady, Thomas Demetrioff Brady. But that's the thing.
When you said the AFC versus NFC, that's what I'm like. All he had to do really was, and I noticed this ain't a lot, he had to get past Brady and then, or, or a man. And the NFC, you had, you had, you had, the ref, the ref arm was, the ref arm was, the ref arm was, the ref arm was, the license. And they even know, Don, it's just an NFC.
Not like the Patriots. Like, not, not, not that would have stopped Philip Rivers from being successful. Exactly. Like, Philip Rivers was there every year.
Think about the quarterbacks in the NFC that Philip Rivers would have had to face. He was on par or better than, he wasn't better than Peyton or Tom. That's two guys, right? And then Ben was right there too.
There was way more better quarterbacks than the NFC than it was the NFC. The NFC had more halacious defenses. I give you that. I think he even had to go pay, you know, you know, he was in Denver, right?
The NBA can come to this division. He had to go through them twice again. So yeah, a lot to get through. Yeah, man.
You talk about the two, arguably the two greatest quarterbacks that ever played a game is what hell Philip Rivers back. Yeah, that's true. That's a good perspective. That's a good perspective.
That's a good perspective. But he's in the NBA. That would have been his competition. You know, I went to some quarterbacks though in NFC.
Who? When he was running. He went through Brett Favre, he went through Enrod. He got through.
He did it. That's first title. He went through Brett Favre. He won in Lambo.
Really? So then how did he go through Enrod just too? It was in, Brett Favre was with 0.7, 0.8, and then he arrived in 2020. Yeah.
I'm saying, but like, I'm going through his. I got you. Yeah, he went through. Young man.
You know about the Super Bowl years? Yeah. You look at him quarterbacks. He went through some quarterbacks.
It wasn't a pay man. Yeah, he had the defense, dude. I'm like, hey, I want to go. That defense didn't start balling to the playoffs.
I'm going to keep it a ball. That defense was not correct. It was like a last year of Adams. If you had him, I'm not pooping on him.
I'm saying, like, it wasn't like they had a top five defense. But in Phillip Rivers prime years, who had the best defense? Ravens. You talking about Torel Suggs, Ray Lewis, Eddie, Chris McCallen.
Hey, hey, I feel like Rivers had a way harder time to try to win a championship than almost any other NFC quarterback. Yeah. I agree with that. Between the quarterbacks he had to face plus the defense is he did about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He's trying to follow my little team. But then to be honest, you're making a case for him not to be in Hall of Fame. Because the difference between good to great is beating one. But that's also why picking a nap.
Well, I was trying to say, yeah, we did go say McNabb really. I would say, like you said, not first ballot. Make it go down. That way, not first.
Because if Eli's going to get in. Because look, look, look, look, if Shannon sharp had to reach a third, Phillip to a six or seven. Yeah, he's going to a six or seven. You know what I'm saying?
Is McNabb getting a Hall of Fame? He should. Oh, yeah. He should.
I would say if they'd feel it can get in, I don't know how McNabb get in. I don't know if you want to talk about this team. But is it possible the Raiders can win that division? Yeah, it is.
I'm looking at. Are they like a half game back still? Yeah. I was sitting on John Grue.
I thought he was literally stealing money from the Raiders. I thought he was like, fuck it. Like I'm just going to come and hit these 10 of you. Yeah, he doing this thing.
Like, and my man Jacob's. Yeah, he'll be. He might be off into a ticket. That's why I'm trying to bet.
So I think the Raiders are legit. I'm not sure about Korea, though. And then you were talking about weapons on the outside. I don't think that they have those either.
But he's had a really good season for not having weapons on the outside. You're right. You absolutely right about that. And I want to see him keep doing that.
But I think they legit. I think foundationally, we had a question because you got rid of your top three best offensive players and you're by far the best defensive player. So everybody was looking at that with a raised eyebrow. And for them to be where they are and for them to prove everybody wrong and for them to still have all of these future draft picks.
And to know, like, and again, and I said this a couple weeks ago, Mike Mayak, when you look when you watched him and what he said when he saw it for ESPN in terms of the drafting, he was one of the best. Mike Mayak is a beast. Beast. A beast.
So, so, so they're going to be scary, especially going to Vegas and everything. You see the new arena being built. Derek Hart is a good enough quarterback to win your school. Especially if you got those draft picks around him to build up a team.
I agree with that. I just want to issue a real quick correction. Eli Manning in 2007 beat the Bucks and the Cowboys. So Tony Romo and I think Jeff Garcia.
Oh, man. And the championship game was against Red Far. For the Rivers, Tony Romo. That wasn't the NFC championship game.
That was the first round. Regardless. No, that was. They beat the, wait, no, that's 2000.
Well, hold on. Let me do this. And then in 2011, they beat, that's the Aaron Rodgers. That Ryan.
And then it was Alex Smith because they beat the 49ers. This 2011, so they beat Alex Smith in overtime. So you're saying, so yeah, because they were a wild card in 2000. They had an all-run.
Phillip Rivers is going to be there. Yeah. I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, Yeah, that's the concept. That's the reason you were talking about.
That's the, that's the, that's the operator most of New York Giants was the pass rush. When they went, went ahead, the NASCAR package. And NASCAR package. Yeah.
So yeah. So really the only way I mean, he beat Aaron Rodgers and Brett Ford. That's not bad. They're not bad.
But Brett Farr was on the decline, right? But Farr was on the decline, right? You can say that was in the decline. He was in the league for another them there five to eight years after that.
He wasn't even. He wasn't even. And he wasn't and he wasn't. He wasn't.
He was in his last, he was on the language. He didn't. He took the vice to the NFC championship game. We just disrespect champions now.
I guess. No, look, I always give Eli props for being Brady. You don't have to love that man. Yeah, you're a Hall of Fame.
So yeah, he's a Hall of Fame. He's a patriot killer. OK, any NFL, any more NFL talk? Nah.
I was asking transition to talk about Hall of Famers. You know what I'm saying? We got to talk about the biggest Hall of Famer that made his day view today. So this is for a random Famer.
Hey, yo, my youkin who wants more basketball talk. He said we need to talk about the different nuggets more than five seconds. But anyway. What else is that talk about?
Say Joe, like Joe's like the same as you know. They don't. They don't. They don't.
They don't. Yeah, that was nice. I was like, I said, watch that shit going in. So yeah, I know.
They're not going back to the Western Finals. No. No. You know, here's the thing.
I think that young teams, when you have some level of success, it's hard to follow it up because now there's expectation. Everybody Denver was last year. It was everybody's sleeper last year. Oh, they got a lot of talent.
They got this. We don't know where they're going to put it together. This then the third. They put it together.
They ran away. They gelled. Now they are the haunted, right? Now everybody's like, oh, y'all, think y'all nice.
We're going to give y'all our best shot. So now they have to deal with that. They have to deal with expectation. It's part of the growing process.
Now, are they going to make the playoffs? Of course. I think they're still going to be a tough out. You know what I'm saying?
But they're not going to be as good as they were last year for two reasons because everything what I just said and because the West got better. Yeah. All right. So what do you think about Michael Porter so far?
We had a lot of time. I was saying, I was saying, I was doing consistent as far as the way. You know what I think would make sense to them is kind of wild, but I feel like if they were able to make a move, even if I had to give a Murray to get Chris Paul in, I think it kind of gives them the edge that they need to put them back in the upper echelon. If Chris Paul was two or three years younger, I was like, you got no no no no.
Chris Paul's going to be one of those guys. No matter so the day he retired, he's going to play. He's like, yeah, Chris Paul's going to lead. You got here.
But the thing is, is that I think you more just too much of your future for that. And then Chris Paul doesn't put you over the hump. If he doesn't. I think him and Joe can get there.
You know, thanks. I know. He got some other. You got Barton and not going to grant.
Not going to. If they had another legit superstar or all-star, then yes. But they don't have that. Y'all know Chris Paul coming in the coast.
Everybody. Yeah, because I'm like, okay, see? Yeah, because they're kids. You're the kids too.
They're just here though. Oh, dude. The corner be tripping, man. This is the way he's taken.
Yeah, he's trying to get out of his seat. So he's going to be nice for right now. But it's coming though. Nobody's talking about that.
Yeah, I think Denver just needs to study the course to get their players to hit different levels. Jamal Murray is a lot better than I thought he would be. In fact, Joker is a lot better than I thought he would be. You know, I knew he had skill, but you know, I like.
I'm glad to get more of Primetime games with just, of course, not everybody can see. But your man back. Hey, I was. I was hoping they came out with the win, but they lost.
Oh, so he is back all the way up. Tullow. Now those back. I think we're four to 14, 10 points.
All right. So you mean he's going to tell me that he's going three more points since we started. We're not talking about this. It's a little rust.
Obviously. It's a little. He's fresh. He means fresh.
He got to get him back. That's what I'll show you. Four for 14. Look, he has seven when we started.
Yeah. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. And you know, I've been right about Mellow a lot.
He'll finish this year. He's not back in the league. Well, that was the name was out. That game, I believe.
That makes a difference. This is four for four years. Four for 14. So that's a Mellow could carry him to the win.
Right. Come with him. 30 in names absence. Listen, four for 14.
What have I been saying about Mellow and the reason why he hasn't really been in the league. You say he can't adjust to the league. Inefficient, right. He's a one on one score elbow type of guy.
He took 14 shots in his first game. 14. He's a little bit much. They was out.
And he's a starter. That's what I'm saying. Who else going to take the shots outside of CJ? Rodney Lewis.
I never even see that man. Pull over Jay. He just ain't dunking. All right.
He just ain't in the end of thousands. No, he hit a couple of big everybody. He can. He ain't feeling it for day.
You ain't telling him to shoot over. Me neither is Mellow. Mellow try. He took 14.
But my thing is this right. Mellow is fresh. Right. Right.
Like he should be no fatigue. He should come out there and prove the doubters wrong. He had 14 opportunities to do. Yeah.
So he's going to be that critical for his first game. His first game back his last year. He's looked the same since he's been in OKC bro. That's the point that I've been trying to hit you with.
What you got out of Mellow today is what you're going to get out of Mellow's last game. He's a bro. No. You said coming in.
You said Mellow's been humbled a little bit. Right. You can't. Oh, I said he did.
Because he said yeah, I've changed my perspective on coming off the bench. All right. All right. No one believes that though.
And my only point of reference from that would be if Carmelo was any good, if anybody believed that he was any good, he would be playing for the Lakers. And I would have him on his team because that would be something that could help him out. And LeBron know that he's not any good and is not going to change his mindset. So he's like, no, I'm cool, bro.
Like I just don't see him not hooking up with someone like that and making his situation easier if he was able to adapt. But since he came to that, he got to take what they get. He got off the bench the way way, bro. Yeah.
Are we being very critical on his first game without Dan? No, because we got to see how this team just together. We just call him the Spain. Exactly.
I'm being critical on what Carmelo Anthony has been since he got moved to OKC. So you think he's going to you say he's going to finish the season, but he will not be. He'll be done after this. Dang, probably going to get mad at him before the season over with.
Yeah, just kidding. I'm just kidding. Carmelo is a Hall of Fame. Why do you want to see this version of Melo?
I want to see the version of Melo that I know and love is someone that can win can be a winning part of a franchise. So why do you want to see this version of Melo? This is like, because I think this is last shot. I think this is last shot.
So you'd rather see him but show himself. I don't think he's a show. I'm not saying he's in his prime. So you'd rather see this version of him than I see him at all.
Yes. Okay. Jeez. I don't know because I don't think I like watching.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I think I was too cool with that watching. Yeah, that was great. Absolute my absolute favorite player other than Charles Barker was Paul Pierce.
And when he left Boston, Brooklyn. Yeah, that was nasty. And the Clippers. Yeah.
It was disgusting. So what I know I prefaced. The key was mine. Watch it.
He's been Toronto. I know I prefaced everything I said about Carmelo since he went to OKC. Yeah, right. So let me give you his averages.
I'll just pick some of the highest ones. Okay. See Carmelo has averaged 28.2, 28.7, 27.4, 24, 26. You know his ratio.
Okay. So what he asked 16.2, you know what he averaged in Houston? 13.4. And you know the field goal percentages on those?
Please tell us both career lows, both of them. And Houston or OKC, I'm sorry, he averaged 40.4% from the field in Houston, 40.5. You know the next lowest one, the next lowest, 43, 3%. And that's big.
That's big. That was the 10 game sample in Houston though. That's his. He is what he is.
Nick. He is not going to average more than 12 to 14 points, bro. You don't think this year he'll have no. You think I'll best case scenario.
No, I think that's the best case scenario. You think best case scenario for Portland is he contributing like they make a run like they did last year? Yes. You think I think the best case for now is getting back to Westinghouse.
With who? With Carmelo versus Nick. Why is that? So you know that they're going to trade.
Why is that? I think I'm going to stay there. But you know that to get to the Westinghouse. You got to be one of the LA teams.
Yes. That ain't happening. I'm not here not for the Clippers. Huh?
I don't think they can be the Clippers. They can be the Clippers. I think they can be the Lakers. I don't think they can be the Lakers.
Because they got two better guards. Who can go on LeBron? No way can go on LeBron. Who can guard AB?
Who can guard AB? Who can guard AB? LeBron is low game. Is every dumb for the year?
And I got to Rondo too. Play off. I got to go on. I'm going to Ronald's my second favorite.
Danny Green. They got other guys. I got Danny Green like an old day more CJ. What are you doing with LeBron?
I give you LeBron. What are you doing with? But this is a part of the league. This is a part of the league.
And LeBron is a point guard now. It's a Ronald game. If you say I give you LeBron. That's the series.
No, no, no. You think that's what they're going to do for rest of the season. You tripping. How long are you thinking of last?
I think up until, I think once Christmas day hits. Base off of what? Because for his age you can't have him. He's not guarding.
He's not going to play in a position. He's not going. So first of all, y'all saw that dumb couple next to us. Oh yes.
Year 17. I want to see anybody. And then you talking about LeBron is averaging 35 minutes a game. In year 17.
You know that's the lowest of his career. And he had the whole opposite. Look Nick, sometimes you'll be talking about the side of your neck. When I'm talking about LeBron.
When I'm talking about LeBron. When nothing to substantiate what the hell be coming out the same. Yes I do. Because I'm saying for his age he can't be playing as high usage as he can.
You didn't think LeBron was going to play like this coming into the season. Exactly. So I'm going to make this point. Who's the greatest basketball player of all time?
Michael Jordan. And at 40. The man played 82 games. At 40.
Is LeBron Michael Jordan? LeBron is more physically gifted specimen than Michael Jordan. And has done more to preserve himself than Jordan. Yeah, Jordan just smokes cigarettes.
Yeah, Jordan just smokes cigarettes. Let's go with them. LeBron is sleeping. LeBron is sleeping now.
What he's doing right now is re- Here's 17. This makes no sense. LeBron, look, look, unlike your boy Carmelo, LeBron is going to average 20 plus points every single day. And I'll be fair to you Nick.
I've questioned myself. I was like, how long is he going to keep this up? I don't know. He's going to keep it up.
I honestly don't know. He's going to do it. He's going to do it. I think he'll play a year or two with Ronnie and then like willingly be like, you know, not because we lost anything.
He's like, you know what I mean? I got to believe it to see it. I don't. I'm getting a witness.
Yeah. And I'll tell you what, I'm enjoying every minute of it because I've never seen it before. Yeah. And to see it, I mean we talking about he blocking shots of shit.
Yeah, the defense may not stay at this level. Hell no. I think that'll take off. But I think offensively I think he can keep that up because I mean he's got a cross-stoke by having turned everybody.
