Kai’ynce “Cheese” Coleman Interview | 2029 Texas Guard Is Ready to Make Noise

from Sportslifetalk Media · host Kevin Thomas

Some nicknames need an explanation. Others tell you everything you need to know.Kai'ynce “Cheese” Coleman is making everything better. 🧀🏀On this episode of SportsLifeTalk’s You Got Next, Savage Season stays in the DFW as we head to Crowley, Texas, to introduce one of the rising names in the Class of 2029.The 5-foot-9 Crowley High School guard brings athleticism, length, versatility, confidence—and a mentality built for Savage Season. When we ask Kai'ynce what makes her a savage, she doesn't hesitate:WORK ETHIC.She believes nobody is going to outwork her on or off the court. Once that ball goes up? It's strictly business.Kai'ynce started playing basketball in fifth grade but says she truly fell in love with the game in seventh grade. That's when the training increased, the commitment changed, and basketball became part of her everyday life. Now the work is showing.“Cheese” describes herself as a three-level scorer who can attack the basket, get to the midrange, knock down the three, find open teammates, and bring hustle every possession.Question the midrange game?“It's on film.” 😂And so is her Mamba Moment.Against Weatherford, Crowley trailed by around 20 points before Kai'ynce helped lead the comeback. With three seconds remaining, she knocked down the GAME-WINNER and finished with approximately 23 points. Now she's focused on becoming even more dangerous through strength and conditioning, shooting, ball handling, and improving her ability to play off two feet. Her goal is simple:Get 1% better every day.Kai'ynce also puts everyone on notice about Crowley girls basketball. The Eagles have some dogs, and they're coming to prove something. When the conversation turns toward North Crowley, Cheese delivers one of the coldest lines of the episode:“It's understood. It don't have to be explained.” 👀🔥Her journey is expanding beyond high school basketball, too. Kai'ynce talks about working with Code Red Elite Academy, plans to compete on the Adidas circuit, and earning an invitation to the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. When college programs start calling, she already knows what she's looking for: a strong community, knowledgeable coaches, a great school, and a program that feels like home. Her favorite WNBA player is Paige Bueckers, whose playing style and hustle remind Kai'ynce of how she wants to approach the game. But basketball isn't her only lane.Away from the court, Kai'ynce is also learning entrepreneurship through her family's logistics business—building something for her future while chasing her basketball dreams. Then there's the SportsLifeTalk Initiation. Her playlist includes Lil Baby, NBA YoungBoy, Rod Wave, G Herbo, and NoCap. Spider-Man is her favorite superhero, and her jersey number 11 carries a special meaning. She was born in 2011, but she also sees 11 as “one-to-one.”Why?Nobody is going to outwork her.Nobody is going to out-effort her.And nobody is going to beat her. When we ask what's next, Kai'ynce doesn't talk about rankings or attention. She goes right back to WORK.Keep getting in the lab. Keep improving. Get 1% better every day. Reach her full potential. And then she gives everybody a warning:“Y'all gonna see me.”At SportsLifeTalk Media, we're committed to amplifying the athletes, coaches, and leaders shaping the future of girls' and women's basketball.Support our 4 Quarters Program with just $1 and help us continue traveling, covering basketball, and giving these incredible stories the exposure they deserve.Subscribe to You Got Next on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, leave a rating and review, and share this episode. She's Class of 2029.She's DFW.She's Crowley. She's confident. She's putting in the WORK.And apparently…It ain't easy being Cheesy. 🧀😂Remember the name Kai'ynce “Cheese” Coleman.SPORTS IS LIFE.
