Send us Fan MailKaleb Mauzy joined the fire service in 2000, starting his career with the U.S. Forest Service at the Sierra Vista Ranger District, working as a wildland firefighter. After 5 years with the Forest Service, in late 2005 he transitioned into structure firefighting with the Fry Fire District located in Sierra Vista, AZ. Upon getting hired with the Fry Fire District, he built out their wildland program and served as the wildland team coordinator until he was promoted to the position of Battalion Chief. As Battalion Chief, he is responsible for the district’s special operations program (which includes TRT, Wildland, Hazmat, and SWAT medics), the part time employee program, as well as employee training. Battalion Chief Mauzy holds many certifications including Technical Rescue Technician, NWCG Strike Team Leader, and Hazmat Technician. He is also a member of the Cochise County Incident Management Support Team and sits on the regional policy committee.
