Kamala Bows Out: Broken System or Broken Support? | August 1, 2025

On today’s show, we break down former Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent interview with Stephen Colbert, where she addressed her decision not to run for governor of California. Harris cited her disillusionment with the current state of American politics, claiming the system is "broken" and that she has no desire to insert herself into something so dysfunctional. While her remarks suggest a principled stand against the political status quo, critics argue there's more to the story.Polls show a steady decline in her public approval ratings, and there's growing speculation that her decision is less about moral conviction and more about political reality. Behind the scenes, whispers within the Democratic Party and feedback from voters suggest a clear lack of enthusiasm for Harris pursuing future public office. Whether this marks a strategic retreat or a genuine personal choice, the message is clear: Harris is stepping back — but not necessarily on her own terms.
