Kansas Basketball in Uncharted Waters | Big 12 Basketball News

Kansas basketball is in uncharted territory as it heads into the 2026-27 season—potentially starting unranked after slipping off Gary Parrish’s preseason top 25. Once a dominant force, the Jayhawks haven’t advanced past the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament since their 2022 title and are now struggling to keep up with the transfer portal chaos. With only four Big 12 teams making Parrish’s list and Arizona leading the pack, KU’s rebuilding efforts—including key transfers like Leroy Blyden Jr. and Keanu Dawes, plus freshman point guard Taylen Kinney—are being closely watched. The program’s recent dips, including five weeks unranked last season, signal a concerning trend—but with roster upgrades still possible, they’re determined to prove doubters wrong on the court.
