We catch up with Kansas City-based jazz saxophonist & bandleader Henry Scamurra to discuss his highly anticipated 2025 debut album, Urban Forum.This exciting new project features vibraphonist Isaiah Petrie, bassist Spencer Reeve, and drummer Jade Harvey, delivering eight selections that honor and connect to Kansas City’s rich jazz tradition. Raised in St. Joseph, MO, Henry is currently pursuing a BM in Jazz Studies at UMKC's Conservatory. At just 16, he was selected for the 2020 Jazz Band of America, marking the start of an impressive journey in jazz.
