Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Kansas City-based Veteran Jazz Guitarist Scott Emmerman .. He opened up about his new 2023 CD Spheres. It is music inspired by the love of iazz-fusion and the influences imparted while growing up in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago during the 1970s. His compositions feature dynamic guitar playing incorporating elements of R&B, jazz, & rock. Born in Chicago, Scott was steeped in the blues at an early age but became enamored with the music of Jimi Hendrix and later began to explore jazz through the music of John McLaughlin .. We cover his rich life in jazz and beyond ..
