Kansas Drops Civil War Hype Ahead of Missouri | Missouri Tigers Football News

Kansas dropped a fiery Civil War-themed hype video ahead of their showdown with Missouri, diving headfirst into the bloody “Bleeding Kansas” era to reignite the rivalry’s historical grit. Framing the game as a clash between free-state heroes and slave-state villains, the video resurrects figures like John Brown and William Quantrill—and it’s already sparking heated reactions from fans on both sides. This isn’t new territory: Missouri once mocked Kansas with shirts referencing Lawrence’s burning in 2007, and KU has responded with anti-slavery pride gear. The Border War’s legacy is alive and kicking, turning every play into a page from history’s most contentious chapter.
