Kansas Rivalry Video Sparks Fire | Missouri Tigers Football News

Kansas football ignited controversy with a Civil War-themed hype video ahead of their game against Missouri, framing the rivalry as a generational battle of right versus wrong. Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz strongly rebuked the video, calling it unnecessary and embarrassing, especially on 9/11, and insisted the game was just football—not a platform for old hatreds. He even vowed to “embarrass them,” which he allegedly did by going for it on fourth down late in the game to score a touchdown. The quarterback delivered a stellar performance with nearly 300 yards and no turnovers. Post-game scuffles erupted on the field, forcing Drinkwitz to intervene—including stopping players from planting a Missouri flag—highlighting just how raw and charged this rivalry still is.
