Kant's philosophy - Apprehension: The role of the power of imagination in experience

In order for our manifold sense impressions to be able to become a unified perception, they first need to be apprehended through the power of imagination, according to Kant. This is just an empirical process, but one in which the power of imagination is under the direction of the intellect, which thereby brings synthetic unity into the representation of the perceived object.
