Kant's philosophy - The imperatives: Skill, prudence, wisdom

The human being is a rational being which nonetheless is also a sensual being and can obey the blind natural drive. The pronouncements of reason therefore are imperatives for him: They are objectively, but not subjectively necessary, i. e. they tell him which action would be good, but there always remains the possibility that he will still rather do the bad. Kant identifies three kinds of imperatives, through which reason can determine our actions: Rules of skill, advice of prudence and commandments of wisdom.
