Summary
“If he don’t look good we don’t look good” In an extended soliloquy that touched on racism, tax breaks, prison reform, mental health and the need for art programs in schools, Kanye West, rapper-activist, used his meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday to offer a platform on issues he feels are most important to the African American community. I mean I’m not sure how much time combined in that room has been spent in the communities that are being discussed , but I’m sure two guys faking their way through a press conference will come up with the exact solutions needed. “No. I’m not asking you for a tax break so I can sell shoes to those same underprivileged communities.” “Cool, because I’ll pretend I’m not a slum lord, son of a slum lord that both inherited, as well as made my own money off of those communities.” Now let’s find some thing else to blame. Maybe the liberal media for asking normal questions, or the democrats because yeah. They perpetuate welfare. Apparently racism is no longer an issue for African Americans and other brown people these days, but welfare, thats to difficult to over come for black people. Wasn’t Kanye tweeting not to long ago for handouts? If you’ve never been in need of help, you wouldn’t know why it was there. How about a call out to all citizens to maybe not game the systems every chance we have. How about using well meaning assistance as assistance and not a crutch. Welfare might be abused, but a blanket statement about how any race is to blame for the mis use. Thats stupidity on a new level. Maybe I’m used to listening to the hyper motivated and creative. I think our natural inclination is to mack it, but it’s all a stream of creative thought attempting to interpret dreams and visions into descriptions normal can define. Stop and Frisk is a crucial topic. Criminal justice reform is important. I’m just nor sure much was accomplished. Sounds like two people that are ad libbing a serious discussion with serious and informed questions ad libbing answers. On that note and with the conversation being opened we would like to offer time and our platform to an open and honest conversation about reform, but from those that have lived in it and through it. If you have a story we would be interested in hearing from you. I am Jason. I can not do this alone. I’m here.
