Stay tuned for more on these stories, coming up next! ________________________________ 高雄首座專業滑板場 The First Professional Skatepark in Kaohsiung There's a super cool new place to visit in Kaohsiung! Kaohsiung's first professional skatepark (滑板場) has just been set up. The Qingpu MRT Station in Qiaotou District has been transformed into a skater's paradise (滑板愛好者的天堂). It has already attracted (吸引) lots of skateboarders (滑板玩家) during the Lunar New Year holiday. The Qingpu skatepark features stair sets, a bowl, and handrails, among other classic skateboarding obstacles like a funbox, and a mini-ramp. It can provide challenges for both beginner and experienced skaters. 青浦滑板場設有各種專業設施，初階到高階的玩家都可以挑戰自己。 Skating has always been stigmatized (污名化). Many people thought young skaters were rude (粗魯無禮), ruining public property (破壞公共設施) and causing noise. Today, it is included in the Winter Olympics as a proper sport (正式的運動). Skateboarding can make you stronger and more balanced (更平衡). Skaters move by twisting their waist and abdomen (扭動腰部和腹部) while keeping balance on their legs (保持雙腿的平衡). It can help improve the heart's function, body balance, and coordination. 它也可以幫助改善心臟功能、身體平衡和協調性。 More and more young people are getting into (開始接觸) skateboarding. And lots of parents are even joining in on the fun! ________________________________ 達拉斯動物園的一系列不幸事件 A Series of Unfortunate Events at Dallas Zoo Some bad things have been happening at the Dallas Zoo in Texas. First, someone broke into (闖入) the zoo and opened a fence (柵欄) to let a clouded leopard (雲豹) named Nova escape. Luckily (幸運的是), zookeepers caught Nova the same day. Then, another bird called Pin was found dead because someone hurt him on purpose. He was a 35-year old endangered vulture (瀕臨滅絕的禿鷹) that lived in the zoo for more than three decades. Zoo staff were very sad when that happened, saying it was a significant loss (重大損失). After that, two emperor tamarin monkeys (皇帝狨猴) were stolen! But thankfully (慶幸的是), they were later found by police. Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for stealing the monkeys. But police are still investigating to see if he had anything to do with the other incidents. 警方還在調查 他是否也牽連到其他的事件。 The man says he loves animals and would steal more if police release him (釋放他). The zoo has increased security and is working with experts to make sure it doesn't happen again. The old design features the previous British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. 舊鈔上有前任英國女王伊莉莎白二世。 That's because Australia is part of the Commonwealth of Nations (大英國協). The Commonwealth is a group of countries that used to be part of the British Empire. 大英國協 是從前大英帝國中的一部分國家。 After Queen Elizabeth II died last year, the Australian government had to decide if it wanted to keep a British monarch (英國君主) on the bank note (鈔票). Instead of having a picture of King Charles III, it will have a design that represents the Indigenous people and their culture. 澳洲決定不用現在的英國查理三世國王的肖像，改用代表澳洲原住民的設計。 The new bill will also still have a picture of the Australian Parliament (議會). The change was made after talking with the government. They want to honor (褒揚) the culture and history of the Indigenous people. The old $5 dollar bill will still be used until the new design is ready, which might take a few years. The new design will be made after talking with Indigenous groups. But King Charles III will still be on coins (硬幣) in Australia. Australia is debating (辯論) if it should continue to have a connection with Britain.
