So much to be excited about is Kirk Licki is making her way over to the broadcasting table as we are pleased to be joined by the junior shooter Cara first of all unbelievable performance you guys fought to win this victory congratulations on making it to the final four Thank you. You're welcome. I really appreciate it. That was awesome.

That was insane. That was a fun game to play with Was that the closest what 16 point victory ever played? You know that compares the same for us. I would say for sure the atmosphere You know it probably goes in one at two point game the whole time But our bench and our fans kept us going the whole time and that was a huge help to us and one thing I mean usually we see you shoot around 15 shots again You only had nine nine this time, but you still were super efficient off the ball I think this is one of the most assist you have in a while what was really going for you guys because obviously we saw some struggles there I mean you guys were locked down defensively, but offensively it seemed like there was a little bit of a lack of a groove there What was really the biggest thing for you offensively that you really weren't able to do and were able to do?

I mean, I think like you said today I wasn't getting as many looks as usual, but I got one name for you for any college tonight You know, I mean she did an awesome job and she got some foul trouble and I'm gonna go shout out to Sammy Paul Because she stepped up huge in this game, you know for us and I don't care I don't care how many shots I'm taking or how many points I have as long as we're winning I don't care, you know, yeah, I mean that's huge there I mean you still get the victory by 16 points and you usually put up 21 a game and you have one of your lowest score points, but you still get a 16 point victory So we were talking about on the broadcast here and obviously there were spurts Obviously you went on that large run offensively and then suddenly they kind of creeped back into the contest and coach Holberg I guess use his timeouts really efficiently. What was he saying throughout those timeouts? What was the message he was stressing to you guys? I mean, he was just keeping it in our minds that you know It's pretty infallible we had to really step up big with not only rebounds But you know just her intensity in the game and he was calling some just give us a quick You know break give us a breather and give us some time to you know get our heads right and I just think like I said With our it was coach and our team just keeping us in there keeping us tight as we came out of those timeouts Both the largest scoring outputs in Saints a return history with 29 twice But the thing is you've been starting in these games as a freshman and we have many well-tourished No fans are on your team They don't look like freshmen out there Did you give any words of wisdom to them because you've been in this situation before I mean Yeah before the game, you know before the tournament I just told them that you know There's gonna be runs and there's gonna be games when you know, maybe they're not shooting as well as you know They want to but I think we mean they can break in a huge job of telling them You know, it's okay You know, there's gonna be runs with you as an individual as well as them with the team and we told them we're behind them 100% So I think that's really helped them and they do not look like freshmen out there at all they look like they've been playing here for three years Yeah, and one thing too, and it's really you know, I talked to Kayla and she said she's not that much of a vocal leader And we see you obviously well spoken in these interviews We also see you as really the vocal leader out there Is that something that comes naturally to you or is that something you've developed throughout your best booker?

I think that you know, I've always been a more of an outgoing person I would say but I mean I think it's come more, you know as I got older and matured and understood how much that means other players on a team While you're out there, you know, I mean you miss a shot and you don't have any teammates out there saying it's alright Get it next time, you know, maybe you're in your head a little longer But I think I've just learned how important it is, you know Coach told me how important it is to be a vocal leader as well as a leader by example So I think I really worked out being more vocal this year the most out of any year Karoliki joining us here on Cougar Postgame on WXAV, 88.3 FM Chicago and other efficient night I mean 11 points, you know, a lot of people would take that obviously you average up over 20 over tonight It was a sort of a different feel and yesterday you came out of the first quarter into the game It was kind of rough, right? It's slow start, but after the first quarter you guys were in such a groove What was the message coach stress going into this game tonight? Just keep rolling, you know, I mean he's been telling us we have a lot of talent on this team Whether everybody gets in the game or not we have a lot of talent on our bench as well And we show the first two games everybody got you know some minutes in there I think he just found that telling us to not get out of what we do as a team and what we've done all year We've been successful, so there's no there's no reason to be changing anything at this point awesome. Congratulations Carol We're looking forward to doing it too.

Absolutely. Thank you I appreciate it. I like you joining us here on Cougar Postgame We're getting set to talk to coach Holberg here in a minute as Cara's hanging around a little bit But awesome performance absolutely absolutely as the Cougar is obviously relying so much
