Day one of the Karaka yearling sale wrapped up with 206 horses sold, more than $38 million traded and averages and medians up on last year. The session featured intense late bidding, highlighted by a Snitzel colt selling for $850,000. Buyers from Australia, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand competed strongly across a balanced catalogue, with 19 lots already above $400,000. Vendors and agents left encouraged and confident heading into day two. Bren and Tim spoke to New Zealand Bloodstock's Mike Kneebone as well as to Trelawney Stud's Brent Taylor who had a special opening day.
