A school which has said goodbye to open-plan classrooms says students and staff are much happier with less noise and distractions. Karamea Area School is one of six schools across the country to have turned their "modern" learning spaces into classrooms with walls, as part of the Ministry of Education's conversion programme. A further 193 schools have registered interest. Principal of Karamea Area School, Tony Baird spoke to John Campbell.
