Danach ist sie nach New York gegangen und was nur für ein Semester gedacht war, blieb für 15 Jahre. 2004 wurde sie als erste Frau festes Mitglied der WDR Big Band . Neben ihrem Engagement in der Big Band, leitet sie zusammen mit ihrem Mann ihr eigenes Quartett KLARO!, ist Gastdozentin am Conservatorium Maastrich und als Mentorin im Mentors Program der Women in Jazz in New York tätig.
