Kassandra-Divine Martyr

from Metal Queens Podcast · host Steve Richards

Divine Martyr began in 2016 as collaboration between Woody, Mark, and (then-guitarist) Daniel Klingler (prior to departure in mid-spring 2016). Later in the year, the band selected vocalist Darlene Parson and Jason Hyde as permanent guitarist. This lineup released the single “Martyr’s Hymn” in December of 2016, which was inspired by stories of MARTYRDOM worldwide. In the summer of 2017, the band released the “Trials” EP, which included the songs “Lament”, “Temptation”, and the original version of “Fear”. Deciding on a change of direction, the band parted ways with Darlene in 2018 and auditioned for both TENOR and SOPRANO voices (pursuing the idea of DUAL LEAD VOCALS). Shortly thereafter, the band announced two new members, Natalie LeFevra and Luke Mellinger, a lineup which was sustained until 2021, releasing the songs: “Beyond”, “More Than What You Are”, “Shatter the Doubt”, “How Do You Know?” and “Not Standing Alone.”Luke eventually stepped down, and a few months later the band also parted ways with Natalie. In late 2021, vocalist/cellist Olivia Guetle was brought on board, and without a direct replacement for Luke, guitarist Jason Hyde has also stepped up to cover backing vocals.in the spring of 2025 the band introduced new vocalist kassandra chandler who has a background in opera. the band looks forward with great anticipation to what comes next!#divinemartyr #femalefrontedrock #femalemetal #femalemetalsinger #metalqueen #metalfans #metal #podcast
