For the next while, Kat paid her dues in shops around California, until she got a job at a place in Hollywood called 'True Tattoo' - with ink legend Chris Garver. Eventually, Chris got his own reality series - 'Miami Ink' - and he wanted a woman on the show. Two seasons later, she opened her own shop - High Voltage - which became the backdrop for her own show 'LA Ink'.
